Super glad that they aren't playing each other's romantic interest coz I really wanted Sona to play actress Nanda's character. ..that character is tricky and Sona hasn't done anything like that before.

This would be fun!!!

It was widely reported at that time that Varun and Sidharth were approached. But yeah, it would be ridiculous to reject the film.

By the way, on social media some people connected with distributors were suggesting that Sidharth did in fact turn down quite a few movies because Karan Johar advised him to do so.

Sonakshi Sinha and Sidharth Malhotra have been roped in for the remake of 1969 hit film 'Ittefaq'. The murder mystery that had Rajesh Khanna and Nanda in lead roles is now being officially remade with Sidharth and Sonakshi, but they won't be romancing each other.

Reportedly, the story of the film has been changed because the suspense of the film is already known to the audience. So to add a twist to the tale the have modified it and only the basic plot has been lifted from the original script, rest all is different.

Confirming the same, Sonakshi adds, "The film's story has been changed and modified. It's about three characters and each one has a back story and a reason to be the murderer. It needs to be seen who actually does it." (sic)

Revealing further details, Sidharth has shared, "I am very excited to work with Sonakshi. But we aren't paired opposite each other in the film. She's not my romantic interest. There will be another girl in the film as well." (sic)

The film will start rolling from January 2017.

Kind of disappointing to hear Sonakshi and Sid will not be a couple because I wanted a fresh pair, but as long as the film is watchable, it's fine.

Who is the other girl? Hope it's not just a pretty face. That doesn't work for Sid. He needs someone who brings out the best in him.

they might not be paired romantically.

But having watched the original.

Sona and Sid's characters will have scenes which give slight hints of romance and the viewers get to wonder what will happen between the two.
