Sonakshi recently talked about the film.

In my opinion, this is how the film shud be promoted. Sid shouldn't have said it directly that Sona doesn't play his love interest, let people guess 😉

The actress will be seen in the remake of 1969 cult film "Ittefaq". She says she has not seen the original film yet.

Sonakshi said: "A lot of people from our generation haven't seen it so, for them it would be an entirely new film altogether. Filmmakers are new and there are a new set of actors. I haven't seen the original film yet so, for me it's a new experience. We will start shooting in January."

Abhay Chopra will be remaking the Yash Chopra-directed 1969 murder mystery, which featured Rajesh Khanna and Nanda.

"Ittefaq" features Sonakshi Sinha and Sidharth Malhotra in the lead. Are they paired with each other?

She said: "It's a mystery so, I will keep it a mystery for a while. We haven't even started shooting. It's a very interesting film. It could be or could not be a pairing."

Were you at any point apprehensive about signing the remake of Ittefaq (1969) that also stars Sonakshi Sinha?

Sidharth: The film is not a remake, it's an adaptation. Also, it is being directed by BR Chopra's grandson, Abhay Chopra. (Yash Chopra directed the original film). I wasn't apprehensive because this film is a murder mystery, which is exciting. We [film industry] haven't seen one in a long time. I haven't really seen a well-made murder mystery [in Bollywood]. So, as an actor, it will be exciting to give the audience something new.
