Why isn't Sid improving?

The snail always wins the race. he might take abit of time bt I think he will definitely improve he isn't the male version of katrina bt rather Deepika. Mark my words he will eventually improve. He always tries to get into the skin of the character. He is a little obviously bt he will get better. I loved brothers he did really well in the movie bt his screen time was so short that he couldn't do much. Nt his fault bt he did well with what limited time he had. I haven't watched the trailer though. My opinion might change if he sucks in it. But if not then I say he still needs time. he thankfully is a useless dancer so he cnt work on that to lure in his audience like kat. And well hotness/handsomeness is subjective. Its only nw that I like a little bit that I think he is handsome otherwise I didn't think much of him. He always looked gay to me. Sorry lol. And Varun has 1 Badlapur bt he also has a Dilwali which messed up his whole year useless movie and acting by him. And god over 25 years of being charismatic and hooking the audience. Some actors have all the luck. Let kat bring in her audience for 25 years with just charisma and see if it works. Salman might not be liked bt please give the man some credit he has done everything and has fitted into each role he has done effortlessly. Be it romance, comedy and action. Not many actors can say the same.

I think he is quite harshly criticized in the trailer thread coz he is pitted against the forum favorite Fawad. 😆

I loved him in HTP. He acted well in that film. Both him and Pari complimebted each other! But I do agree that he is not natural. He needs to work on his body language and delivery ASAP! But I , unlike most, don't find him wooden. He has got expressive eyes right from his SOTY days!

He cannot just act "fine". He is an outsider. He needs to act better than starkids in order to last longer than them. SRK didn't just act "fine". He ate Sunny Deol alive in Darr to be even considered for anything. Sid isn't a critical darling, isn't as popular as Varun, it's ridiculous to pretend his average to decent-ish acting is enough to compete with starkids even with the KJO push.

Acting skill could always improve as time goes on, anythings possible.

Problem I have is his lack of commanding screen presence/charisma on screen. As long as you have that even limited acting can be ignored (case in point Salman) but a lack of charisma doesn't allow audience to engage as much and you run the risk of getting easily overshadowed and that's where talent and skill need to kick in.

He's looking okay in this trailer though at least if you compare it to EV or Brothers so all the best to him.

He was equally, if not more criticized in the Brothers thread. Fawad is not even his competition so this is a pointless tangent to divert the tangible problem of his stilted acting lmao. I found him absolutely endearing in HTP as well and kinda surprised when he's not going beyond his peak in HTP. He's not an insider, he will naturally be criticized twice as much if he continuously fails to do something spectacular. Is there too much expectation? Yes. But he is an outsider, his stans should know this already.

On a serious note, I do feel that Sid was quite likable in HTP. Even in EV, he had his flashes of brilliance but in certain scenes, his discomfort was visible. When I watched Guru, I found him to be an aggressive version of Sid. Haven't seen Brothers, so can't comment on that film or his acting skills.

Although for his sake, I sincerely hope he improves because such mediocre acting will only get him this far. To be able to sustain, he needs to constantly up his game because his contemporaries have raced far ahead. Varun is a star in his own right and is already compared with his seniors like Ranbir, Ranveer. I am rooting for Sid because of 1.) good looks 2.) outsider factor.

After watching the trailer I was actually wondering why is Alia acting the same monotonous again..🤔 Sid was definitely not the weakest part of the film trailer..

Let's not compare Salman's charm with Sid lmao. Salman was legit doing Karan Arjun, Pyaar Kiya toh Darna Kya, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun by this time in his career. I know this forum hates Salman but Salman's presence and raw charisma are unmatched even though he has never been the greatest of actors.

Katrina is a female outsider, it's completely different. I do hope he'd be a male Deepika myself but let's hope for the best I guess. Yeah, Varun was horrible in Dilwale too just like Sid was terrible in Brothers but Varun also had his standout moment in Badlapur which Sid never did. Outsiders need to have a Kangana moment to last long.

The saddest reality of BW.. Outsider have to work double harder to prove themselves.. Even audience have this mindset...
