I feel the society will rather live in fear of how its going to affect people than finally admit that these kind exists. Some are not really behind the bars and are freely expressing how a woman is at fault. Are they not threats already? Should public not know about such kinds and prepare themselves to handle such mentality and actions that such mentality might bring ? Will banning the documentary change the way they think or not influence the next generations when people like them are often saying such things all over social media and news channel. Do the government ban those shows? Do they suspend those ministers who come with the same mindset that its the woman's fault? Never seen it.
Then why are we banning the documentary? Because this, we have a control on? Its like lets pretend we have managed to curb this evil by hiding it? I would have preferred if it was shown and then his and the lawyers views were slammed as mental issues. I wish the lawyer was suspended for having such 'violent' mindset. But no lets delete the video and pretend that everyone is sane and civil in this world.

You guys are right about blood boiling and all but point is that many get scared instead.

Or they get more hateful.

Either men vs women fights and blame games or knee jerk responses due to fear.

I am sorry to say but harsh truth is that I never encountered rational debate on such issues in real life. And definitely not online.

I stand by my point that most people lack the maturity to take this documentary in the right perspective.

I have watched interview of a highly educated couple on TV who wanted permission for sex selective abortion citing reason that India was not the right place to bring up a girl child. They went on citing all socio economic reasons! When countered they said they could have done it stealthily too but since they didn't want to take ilegal route so they thought of asking permission instead. I am quoting this example only to underline how actually the facts are interpreted and what mindset they result in, instead of what they should ideally accomplish.

Reality is very different from idealism.

No, I have a problem doing toilet is enuff to understand w/o graphic details and doc can ask few question and give me medication. small example.

Its not abt pretending all is well, its also abt "all is not well, its bad, so bad, we r helpless, lets commit mass suicide". Human race has gone thru much worse, just in 20th century which is not that much in past.

I wasn't planning to watch it, but I'm going to watch it. I read somewhere some minister was saying it "shames India". When we have pricks like Akhilesh Yadav or his father, as chief minister India is already at shame.

Someone really ought to set some of these minister's ass on fire and then we might just see some change. I say create a documentary on their statements ["Boys will be boys, why hang rapists?" - Mulayam Singh Yadav ] and show it across the world. 😃

Those quotes have been covered extensively by foreign media. Many leading publications even did cover stories on India's rape crisis.

It's not like they went ignored. The backlash was what that made Mulayam and Akhilesh shut up after boys will be boys bullshit.

Even now this documentary I guess is being shown outside India. Indian government doesn't have the power to ban it abroad.

And sometimes that medicine doesn't really work and the doctor order for more tests which sometimes involves endoscopy too for the doctor to get a better 'picture' Sometimes its too late that the patient can't be saved anymore.

U know what happens with blood boiling of group of community can lead to.. Remember what happened in Godhra train burning and aftermath...
Rappists dont even have any ID lookwise or otherwise... an innocent teenage asking a girl for a coffee and girl replying with "bachaooo" can end the youngman's life by public on the road.

Its far fetched i know.. but u dont want ppl to be so freaking scared that the only thing remains is "Hum Tum" ... the stpd film in whish saif says duniya me sirf do tarah ke log hai "men and women- Hum tum".

We r family.

They shut up for now, but their mentality will never change, and they will be back with their statements.
We need better ministers.

Akhilesh Yadav until last year was saying what else can he do? I am not saying they aren't trying or making changes. They have implemented a few things, but it is still not enough.
