You're basically rewarding a person for committing such a heinous crime. What was the need to interview him for that documentary? For TRPs obviously.

For real?! 🤬

And TRPs? Pathetic little shits, show us his live execution, y'all gonna be flooded with ratings then I'll guarantee it, what with the outrage that monster and his 'defence lawyers' (🤢) interviews have caused.

women r womens' biggest enemies, men r united by their hormons.

Sounds cruel... but we all have good men n women in each society. Let's make it safe.

I always maintain women are worse enemies of women.

I can speak for myself that I have never blamed males alone.

Even in that documentary you can see women from rapists' families still defending them and begging for mercy. The mother first didn't bother or maybe didn't know what her son was upto but now she defends him despite knowing the truth!

I know many women who bash other women alleging she slept her way to the top at workplace!

This culture didn't spread without participation of many women.

Infact even on IF you can see female users bashing female characters in TV shows all the time while writing apologist or fantasy based posts for abusive and psycho male characters.

Internalised misogyny is a real issue.

I agree with you that all men and women need to be more rational, respectful and work as a team to address societal problems. These are human issues. Let's stop reducing them to males vs females.

How do we know he was paid? Or is it a conspiracy theory floated by media under Government pressure to justify the ban?

TRPs?

Well the discussion and ban on this even before it went on air gave it more publicity than anything else.

I tell you I learnt about this from Times Now debate than NDTV itself! I don't get NDTV channel on TV.

Frankly Times Now was foolish to debate about it and start hashtags a week in advance! And politicians and other channels too foolish to respond in such a hurry!

This response drew curiosity. And the ban was perfect publicity. It became about freedom, democracy, censorship etc and even those who wouldn't have bothered, wondered what the documentary had. It also gave excuse to media to write further on this issue.

The maker didn't promote it as much as the critics did.

Anyone's guess at this point. Both sides of arguments could be made. I wouldn't put it past the thug to demand money for the interview and knowing the Indian system very well, its likely they bribed some officials to get the permission as well.

I wouldn't support the ban had they not given the thug the platform to justify his atrocity. Even worse if they paid him for it. Its not sending the right message at all. Govt f**ked up as well if they are allowing rape/murder convicts that kind of freedom.

Quotes were leaked a week before the documentary was supposed to be aired. I read it on Independent before the whole discussion began in India. Media started questioning the government for giving permission to interview the convict and home minister had to reply in parliament that it was done under UPA's rule.
