Good Start
Aamir Khan's PK has taken a very good
opening at the box office from the first
day first/early shows.
The first day
collections are going to be big if the
film is able to maintain some pace in
the noon and early evening shows. A far more clear picture will emerge by
12 noon. We will update that too. As of now check out the report from the
early shows. The film is release in
around 3800+ screens (Approx) Many multiplexes have started their
shows at 9 a.m, some even at 8.30 and
the start in very good to say the least.
Multiplexes all across the country has
taken a good start in the early shows.
The opening is no where in the range of Dhoom 3 and Happy New Year but is
good enough for a film like PK. In spite of severe cold wave in northern belt, Delhi Noida has seen a very good start (60-70 %). The opening in Rajasthan belt is good too in the early shows. Opening in places like Raipur, Nagpur and Indore is good (40-45 % to 55-60 %) too. In South, the initial start in places like Mysore, Bangalore,
Mangalore the start ranges from 35-40
% to 50-60 %. (good to very good range).
The occupancy is likely to
increase from next show onward.
Mumbai rarely takes a record breaking
start but the opening here is decent to
good in the early shows and it will
grow in the next few shows. Kolkata, Mysore always favors Aamir
Khan movies and PK opening is a
testimony to that. Aamir Khan is
number one bollywood star in the
Mysore belt and it will be a interesting
to see if PK beats the first day circuit records or not.
Aamir Khan speaking
Bhojpuri has managed to attract the
crowds in multiplexes in Bihar, UP too
as the opening is good to decent there
too. Single Screens will open at around 12 noon so we will come up with another update at around 2pm. If the film manages even a very good opening in single screens too, then a a big day 1 is on the cards as the ticket rates are quite high in multiplexes as well as the occupancy.
