Samridhii Shukla opens up on going through times where work & relationships felt uncertain: 'Felt heavy but..'

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actress Samridhii Shukla believes that spirituality is not a distant concept but a living experience that guides her every day. Speaking about her personal journey, she says, “For me, spirituality is like having a soft corner inside my heart where everything feels calm and true. It’s about being honest with myself, being kind to others and staying grounded even when life is loud and busy.” She adds that spirituality connects her to something larger than herself, making her feel both protected and inspired.

Recalling the moment that shifted her outlook, Samridhii explains, “I went through a time where everything around me felt uncertain, work, relationships, even my own thoughts. That phase felt heavy but it also became a turning point. I started reading, meditating and simply sitting with myself.” She shares that it was during this period she realised spirituality was more than just a word; it became a guiding force in her life.

Talking about her daily practices, she says, “My practices are very simple. In the morning before I touch my phone, I sit quietly for 10 minutes and just breathe. Sometimes I pray, sometimes I write my thoughts down, and sometimes I just stay still.” She adds that these small habits keep her balanced and grounded despite a hectic shooting schedule.

On whether she sees spirituality and religion as separate, Samridhii reflects, “I respect my religion and its traditions but spirituality is more personal. It’s like a friendship between me and the universe. There is no fear in it, only love and gratitude.”

She further explains how this shift changed her outlook on success and failure. “Achievements are beautiful but they don’t define my worth. Even when something goes wrong, I try to look at the lesson instead of the loss. That mindset shift is because of spirituality.”

Concluding on how it affects her emotionally, Samridhii smiles and says, “Earlier my mind used to run like a crowded train. Now there’s more space and fresh air inside. It’s not magic but it’s a very real change.”
