Aamir Khan's PK Ticket Price Won't Be Hiked

Actor Aamir Khan, director Rajkumar Hirani and producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra have decided not to hike the ticket price for the upcoming film PK, which is releasing on December 19.

"The team feels that the film is universal and everyone should be able to see it," said Aamir's spokesperson in a statement.

With the release of a big film, the theatres tend to hike the ticket price. However, PK team was adamant not to effect any change in price.

The film also features actors Anushka Sharma, Sanjay Dutt and Sushant Singh Rajput.

PK TAKES HUGE START ALL OVER IN ADVANCE BOOKINGS

PK Is Set For Huge Opening

''PK'' is set to change all this. Contrary to doubts among few Bollywood circles, film has created unprecedented buzz all over.

Film has taken a brisk start and going by the huge advances in multiplexes especially in high end ones, it seems that film will establish a big non holiday Friday number.

Film is set to create havoc in Delhi, NCR, Bangalore, Mumbai city , Mysore and Pune. Film is also carrying very good ''genuine'' reports from preview shows so a box office hurricane will arrive on 19th December. For example, PVR, Fun, Cinepolis and all multiplex chains combined have crossed 12 cr value of booking and going by the trend, film should have easily 80% occupancy by Friday morning for full weekend.

As per early trends, film will target close to 30 - 32 cr nett plus on day one as reviews will only be out by Friday noon and will reach most of the audience by Saturday (prints & electronic media) which means audience will rush to cinemas over the weekend no matter what is the word of mouth.

Aamir Khan's PK to release on 3500 to 5000 screens in India

Expect Aamir Khan to come with something new for his films and considering that PK is the last big release of the year, the actor wants to ensure that 2014 ends with a bang! Amidst touring cities in India for promotions, Aamir Khan has decided that this time around, the rates of tickets for PK will not be as expensive as his previous film.

In fact, along with the distributors, the entire team made a collective decision to not hike the tickets prices for PK. The makers have decided to keep the ticket prices affordable for the audiences, so that they don't feel the pinch on their pockets and also because more and more people will get a chance to watch the film this way.

Theatre owners opened advance booking on Monday itself and the shows are gaining a good response already. The film will have between 3500 - 5000 screens in India and about 820 screens overseas.

While Rajkumar Hirani and Aamir Khan are collaborating after 3 Idiots in 2009 for PK, Aamir Khan will be pairing with Anushka Sharma for the first time. PK also stars Sanjay Dutt, Boman Irani and Sushant Singh Rajput in prominent roles and will be releasing on December 19.
