Was YJHD a Blockbuster only because of Ranbir ?

No. It was a blockbuster for a lot of reasons not just because of Ranbir. Film was a decent rom-com, hit music, great trailer, good chemistry between the pairs, and not to forget the whole ex angle they milked during the promotions. Also props to the director..he really knows how to make a film that young people can enjoy. His WAS was really good as well.

YJHD was not a perfect film, but much much better than a lot of romantic films made theses days *cough* RL.

It's def one of my fav romantic films from recent times. I actually would prefer YJHD than a wannabe Barfi. Yes perf were great..but film not so much.

No i don't think so. I know i watched it because i loved Ayan's first film Wake up Sid and because of the lead pair Ranbir - Deepika. Deepika was the star of the movie for me, just like in CE.

It was an average movie with good music. Don't know how it became a blockbuster and a big fat LOL @ people saying Deepika overshadowed Ranbir. She can never in her life time overshadow a brilliant versatile actor like Ranbir Kapoor.

I loved the film! Really entertaining unlike other masala potboilers that don't make sense even 1 percent!

Ranbir is a great actor am not a fan of Deepika as an actress's prefer Ranbir over her by miles..but she did overshadow him in the film IMO because he was playing the same role he played in his previous films. He had nothing new to offer. Has nothing to do with him being a good actor or bad actor..she just had a better role than him!
