More than the actors or chemistry, the pillars of the movie were its story and the music. I remember being disappointed when I first watched it but now it always brings a smile on my face. IMO this was the best rom-com after JWM.

Same experience for me. Thought it was average when I first saw it, but it grew on me later. Never get bored of watching this film now. I've only seen Wake Up Sid more times among rom-coms.

Me too. I was'nt quite happy about the film when I watched it first...but I watched two-three times more and I love it now. The ending was quite disappointing..but the rest of the movie was actually a lot of fun.
This one, SDR, HTP and HSKD are my most favourite rom-coms in recent time.

Deleted scenes were good too.

I like the dialogues and interaction between characters in Ayan's films. YJHD had that too despite all the gloss and glamour of Dharma films. Love RK's scenes with his dad and step mom later before the climax. I liked the climax too. Thought it was cool and kinda different they involved all four characters.

I loved that scene with Naina's mom. It was cute.
But good that they deleted it..it actually made no sense to include it.

In fact, I appreciated this movie after watching other rom-coms of recent time. 😆

+ 1..I think the problem was i had very high expectations..Ayaan was coming off WUS & Ranbir just gave a brilliant performance in Barfi & i was in love with ARK ( thanks to A 2) plus the album was all sorts of awesome, so when i actually saw the film, i was really disappointed 😆 The disappointment was entirely because of the high expectations i had..But when i saw it on TV a few months later cos i had nothing better to do, i quite liked it😆 IMO, if they had edited out the ghagra song & added some of the deleted scenes in the second half, it wouldn't have looked this haphazard..There were a couple of lovely scenes these idiots chose to delete..The one with Bunny, Naina & her mom for instance..So yeah, with better editing, the film could have been a lot better..Its still a good one time watch though 😆

Deepika-Ranbir getting back together, chartbuster music and Aditya Roy Kapoor, fresh from the success of Ashiqui was the reason for the film's success.

Me too. I did not like the film at all when I watched it in the theatre but now whenever it's on TV, I just have to watch it!

It was obviously a combination of factors that made it a success.
This movie unnecessarily receives a lot of flak from people. IMO the story was really good so was the execution. Credits to Ayaan for that. Also Ranbir's performance was brilliant. He stole the show for me followed by Deepika. It is one of those movies which you can watch again and again and not get bored. 😆

The ending was a bit rushed though. Would've been better if the deleted scenes were added in the movie.
