1st Day Early Box Office Collection Trends Of DAAWAT E ISHQ And KHOOBSURAT
Friday 19 September 15:27
As per early trends, ''Daawat E Ishq'' should target close to 4 cr nett and ''Khoobsurat'' should do close to 3 cr nett but anything less than that will be disappointment as it will leave no room for turnaround for these films.

DAAWAT E ISHQ Leads Over KHOOBSURAT But Overall Both Dull
''Daawat E Ishq'' and ''Khoobsurat'' released today and like last week, both films have different set of audience. Last week releases are virtually out of competition and next week will see few small films so one out of two today''s release has good chance to sustain if it manages some sort of appreciation.
''Daawat E Ishq'' opened to around 20-22% occupancy and it has better start in Lucknow, Kanpur, Surat, Indore and other small towns. But film has wider release of around 1900-2000 screens which will make sure that it leads over ''Khoobsurat'' on day one.
''Khoobsurat'' also opened to close to 15% occupancy and film is complete no no in small towns. Film has to depend on multiplexes for big growth from evening onwards otherwise it will have stiff target over weekend.
As per early trends, ''Daawat E Ishq'' should target close to 4 cr nett and ''Khoobsurat'' should do close to 3 cr nett but anything less than that will be disappointment as it will leave no room for turnaround for these films..

Okay so I just saw the movie and OMG It was adorable with a capital A. The story may be nothing new but it had a charm of its own only because of both the leads. Both. Being a Disney movie,it had all its elements such as fun, romance, heartbreak, etc but these two held their own and created MAGIC <3

Coming to Fawad, what a fabulous actor. His expressions, his body language of that of a no nonsense Rajput prince, was bang on and he was Perfectly cast. As for Sonam, she held her own in her portrayal of the crazy, hyper and in her own terms 'royally misfit' doctor! I read many reviews that she was OTT ,annoying etc but I think she did a great job playing Milli. In fact this character is tailor made for her 😆

Fawad has definitely carved a niche for himself by his restrained but subtle performance 👏 And coming to his chemistry with Sonam,OH MY GOD (Janice style) ☺️ Their romance was adorable,Hot and really really sweet ,all 3 at once😳

As for the rest of the cast,Kirron Kher was hilarious as the Punjabi Mom and at several parts,I was rofling 🤣 Liked Sonam Kirron ji scenes and Sonam and Aamir Raza Hussain (who plays Fawad's dad)'s scenes as well😆 Ratna Pathak as the strict matriarch of the Rathore family did a commendable job too.

Special mention to the sets <3 The palaces looked royal and breathtaking and even the Rajasthan scenery was a beautiful contrast. All the costumes which Sonam wore, she pulled it off with elan. Nobody can pull off such outfits apart from her,IMO. Songs were nice and fun too!

Overall a very feel good movie and you have to watch the movie to see Milli and Viku's interactions as well as their scorching chemistry ❤️ Oh and also, their KISS. Hayyee

Rating- 4/5

Thank you so much guys 😳 You know one other thing I loved about the movie apart from Fawad (of course ) was the underlining message the movie had. Be Yourself, you don't have to change for anyone. This may have been said or expressed in other films but I just liked it all the more in this film especially the way it was shown, which is why I love Milli, the character . She may be hyper, doesn't care about rules and regulations (not even a little bit 😆) ,does things her way,she is even stupid at times, doesn't have a filter for her thoughts as Viku says LOL but despite all this, she is who she is and she's proud of it

Khoobsurat Review

Khoobsurat is an unusual film because it brings the simplicity of a Hrishikesh Mukherjee film and combines it with the gloss and glamour of a Disney fairytale. It's supposed to be the first Disney fable made for Indian audiences. Sonam Kapoor makes a comeback after the intrepid Bewakoofiyaan and Fawad Khan, the Pakistani superstar, makes his debut with this flick. Does it come together?

Story: As with the original, the protagonist of Khoobsurat is a character named Mili Chakraborty (Sonam). She is the physiotherapist of Kolkata Knight Riders and is called upon to look after the King of Sambhalgarh (Shekhar Rathore) after her friend is unable to take up the assignment. Here the exuberant mischievous Mili gets into trouble with the Queen Nirmala (Ratna Pathak Shah) who likes to run things her way. Mili meets the Prince Vikram (Fawad Khan) and eventually they have tiffs which slowly gives rise to love between them. But the problem is Vikram is already engaged to a Princess Kiara (Aditi Rao Hydari). Are Mili and Vikram able to overcome the problems and settle down together? To find out, watch the film.

Khoobsurat Movie Review

Screenplay and Direction: Director Shashanka Ghosh who made the quirky Quickgun Murugan in the past, imbibes his remake of a class with fresh characters and doesn't follow the original to the tee. Instead he charts his film in his own way. That doesn't always work seamlessly but you can't blame a man for not trying. The screenplay is fun throughout the first half but loses a bit of steam in the second half. The climax is quite funny, though.

The technical aspects of Khoobsurat are work-some. The cinematography sticks out because of the lavish way in which it has been shot. Credit to Tushar Kanti Ray. The editing is also decent with none of the scenes extending their stay. The styling is also spot on with the stylists getting the royal feel right. The music of Khoobsurat has been composed by the talented Sneha Khanwalker. She has done an average job with none of the songs making a mark beyond the film's duration.

Acting: Sonam Kapoor gets to sink her teeth into the role of Mili Chakraborty as the whole film is about her character and about her journey. Sonam has come a long way from her "Thank you" days and shows considerable acting prowess in Khoobsurat. She's spunky, lively and yet emotionally connective as Mili. She can still get better, though. Fawad Khan is a tremendous looker as well as a fantastic actor. Ratna Pathak Shah is feisty in her role. Kirron Kher is annoying as the loud Punjabi mother of Mili.

Conclusion: If you're in the mood for some harmless entertainment and if you don't mind watching a Sonam Kapoor film then Khoobsurat will be a tolerable watch for you. It's not ground-breaking or jaw-dropping cinema but it serves its purpose. Don't expect a lot if you do decide to go watch it, and you will not be disappointed.

Box Office: Khoobsurat will find it difficult to make a lot of headway with a below average opening. The content may click with a few but all in all, it will pass under the radar.

Positives:

  • Fresh twist to a yesteryear classic
  • Sonam Kapoor
  • Costume Design, Cinematography are good
  • Fawad Khan shines in his debut

Negatives:

  • Direction becomes slacky at places
  • The content won't work with everyone

Khoobsurat's Opening Day Occupancy Report

start of share button

Date And Time Div Starts

1 min ago by Koimoi.com Team

Khoobsurat too opened to a dull occupancy. The film has released mainly in multiplexes. The count of single screens is relatively low for this film. It has released in around 1100-1200 screens. A growth is expected in the evening and late evening shows.

Sonam Kapoor and Fawad Khan in a still from movie Khoobsurat'

Khoobsurat is targeted at premium multiplexes and Tier 1 City multiplexes. The opening occupancy seems to be similar to other release Daawat-e-Ishq which has also had a dull opening so far. Both the films are dependent on the critics reviews and also a good positive word of mouth.

Fawad khan shines in his debut makes my heart happy.

I guess it was really difficult to ignore the flowerpot who turned out to be an actor. 😆
