I am not talking about this whole decade, but movies post 2011..wait let me edit.

For eg, movies by Ranbir, Ranveer, SSR,ARK,Sid, Varun, Arjun, DPad, Parineeti,Alia,Shraddha. Whatever they have done till now. The young lot.
This decade has many classics, not them.

Ummm... it will count, but am talking about the generation after Ranbir..after 2011. The new lot...because their are some really good movies before 2010.

Right now I don't find any of them worth remembering after 10 years...that's why I made this post. 😛

SOTY is in my bucket list 😃

Then give some clarity in ur intro post...ppl are getting confused regarding the timeline Sunainaaa 😆

Selecting memorable movies or classics b/w 2011-2014 is a tough task

I liked English Vinglish,Kahaani etc a lot but dont think will remember them after 10 yrs or rewatch watch them 😆...So then my list will minimize to Barfi,Lootera and YJHD alone..oops also SOTY😳

Arey u have one right? Chennai Express bhool gayi? 😆 😳

Well, I dont think JTYJN, Omkara, English Vinglish, can be termed as classics. I didnt even know a movie called omkara exists till i came to IF ! And classics are meant to be the movies which people know even if they dont watch movies because of the buzz because it is supposed to THAT good!

Well there are movies that are called classic from yesteryears that you wont know. The thing is that it gets the cult title from the bunch who adores such movies for years. JTYJN was a gamechanger in a way for rom-coms. It was the beginning for new age rom coms and so many films followed the pathway. EV - a woman orientated film did tremendously well and still much talked film of this decade compared to many big grossers. Omkara is Ajay's one of the most appreciated films from all. The movie wasn't a huge success but if released would have been a big hit. It brought the raunchy action drama in lime light. LAndga Tyagi is one of the most remembered villains of recent times.

I don't think YJHD has any kind of sustainability as a classic. It's pretty run-of-the-mill romance which ran mostly based on the background drama of ex-lovers coming together. Lootera will have much more appreciation as a classic- IMHO. like Lamhe

Yes, CE for sure... to tell them how I lost my grey cells while watching some movies.

Classifying movies under the evergreen/memorable category entirely depends on individual choice basis..K3G is regarded as a classic outside this forum and even by a major section of media while many here feel its loud,OTT melodramatic, overrated and prefer a Kal Ho Na Ho to it,

I love Lootera and Barfi from today's times and will remember them for ages to come while in real world people might be raving about a Chennai Express and media about YJHD after 10 yrs.

Honestly, I don't think that any movie other than Barfi of this period will be remembered 15 years from now. To be remembered as a classic, it should be something unique, memorable and outstanding. Something which people imitate and imbibe within their daily lives.
Even though, Kahaani, English Vinglish, Lootera, Queen were all great and well made movies, there is nothing that can be imitated about them.

The reason why we remember Sholay, HAHK, DDLJ are for their characters and the imitational scope. Barfi is one character that people will remember for a long, long time. People imitate that character and will continue to do so.
