Katrina never got the kind of success Deepika got last year throughout his entire career. She was always a flowerpot in Akki's movies before she movies with other actors. We will see who does better in future😆 and if Deepika doesnt deserve any credit for Race2's success than Katrina also shouldnt for Dhoom3 which actually had Aamir Khan and not Saif Ali Khan.

Yea, I think RL benefited most from her successful run. Two back to back blockbusters and Deepvir pairing created the buzz despite SLB's two previous disasters.

Definitely not comparable to her male counterparts, but Deepika definitely has that starpower...Katrina does most of the movies with established actors/old actors but Deepika did give 100 crore grossing Ramleela with a 3 film old Ranveer Singh! That is starpower IMO. And she has not restricted herself to work only with the Khans/Kumars/Kapoors. So compared to other actresses she does have star power..

Yes they have. But actresses have short shelf life overall as compared to their male counterparts & after a certain time they fade away.In past we had Sridevi & Madhuri who had star power.At the moment Deepika & Katrina do have star power & I don't think they can easily be replaced by Anushka or some other actress. During Ramleela's release in this forum it was considered an acid test for Deepika as SLB & Ranveer both were considered not so successful(I like Ranveer but he doesn't have star power at the moment).And she definitely had a big hand in RL's success(& CE,YJHD etc too).

I agree! The first trailer of Dhoom 3 got about a million youtube hits because of Katrina Kaif. She looked absolutely stunning and the Dhoom Machale song became an instant hit because of her. What if she had a small role? Her dance numbers like Kamli and Malang were amazee 😃

Deepika was also hardly there in Race 2. I remember that movie because of Jacquiline's 'Lat lag gaye' song.
