Katrina had Dhoom 3 but noone cared abt her whereas Deepika managed to give a hit like Ram-Leela with someone like Ranveer (zero stardom IMO) and also Dpad deserves alot of credit for CE, Cocktail, rubbish Race 2's success. Ranbir needs to choose edgy films to give a hit..He is more like Aamir Khan who needs to do great movies to give hit films..Forgot abt Besharam and who was Indian of the year last year?!
Also HNY is all ready to break many records. Deepika can make RL and Race 2 hits then she can make any movie a hit. Plus she is also huge in social networking sites.😃

I agree with the last sentence K.Sean. Dpad cant be compared to Katz, and definitely not anymore when Deepika is gaining more fans all over the world. Katrina is slowly fading away.. Deepika is stealing her thunder now. Even her contempories like Parineeti has accepted she is the reigning queen of BW.

I rated Katrina higher on basis of consistent track record. It is like I would not have rated Aamir higher just after TZP, Ghajini or Salman after Wanted and Dabangg.

Not now but she never had any more star power than her contemporaries.
New York and MBKD weren't really big hits that you can measure her star power.
As of now, Deepika surely has a great star power. She was the crowd puller for 'RamLeela'.
Katrina was a part of successful films while Deepika is the reason why her films have worked, at least CE and RL.

But still it's very hard for any female star to pull off a huge hit.

However, I believe that actresses may not get solo hit on their shoulders. But one thing is for sure that if they get paired up with any male superstar, the film becomes much bigger.(Like someone stated above)
If solo Salman or Shahrukh film collect 150 crore, the same film may generate 250 crore if Deepika join them in the film.

Katrina has a strong pull, a flop film like Farah bhabi's Tees Maar Khan earned some money because of Kat's Sheila ki Jawani..there were people who went to theatres only to see Kat's dance..
