6 cr then 8 cr is pretty good now if mondey is arock steady then varun can get his first solo hit

main tera hero

a typical david dhawan comedy
varun is my star
he carried the movie on his shoulders
he is not a great actor
right now he is average
some scenes were funny
a good one time watch
and varun wasn't copying shahid,their voice is similar and they are good dancers
illeana is good as flowerpot
nargis should remain being a model same as everlyn
some song i like-palat,besharmi and galat baat hai
side actors were ok
i'm happy to see rajpal

i'd give a 2.5

but i'll put a .5 for varun

so 3/5

and if you like chasme baddor,do watch this😛

Varun Dhawan's 'hero-giri' in "Main Tera Hero"
earned the entertainer a good opening of Rs 6.60
crore on its first day and Rs 8.07 crore on the
second day of release in the country. The film has
collected Rs 14. 67 crore in total.
Directed by David Dhawan and produced by Balaji
Motion Pictures, the movie, which released Friday
also stars Ileana D'cruz and Nargis Fakhri.
The actors had gone out of their way to promote
the film, the songs of which received a good fan
following prior to the movie's release. A total
David Dhawan-style masala entertainer, the film
is being loved for its comedy and acting by
Varun.
Trade analyst Komal Nahta had taken to his
Twitter page Friday to share feedback on the
response to the film in the market.
"'Main Tera Hero' morning show at Sikar in
Rajasthan house full! That says it all. Nothing
more needs to be said now. Public verdict is
clear," he had posted.

Nargis's role is a mystery to me from the promos. Will probably catch this film on Bluray. If some generous soul would like to spoil what her role is her me though...😊.

My Main Tera Hero Review

David Dhawan is certainly one of my favourite directors, and I have enjoyed a lot of his comedies. But at the same time, he is kind of a miss or hit kind of director.

MTH, was okay, I didn't find it as funny as some people are claiming it to be. A lot of the jokes were kind of stale and not funny. The film cannot even be compared to classics like Haseena Mann Jayegi or even Chal Mere Bhai...even Mujhse Shaadi Karoge, Chashme Budhoor, and Partner were more funny.

There were maybe 3-4 parts in the film were I actually laughed, but I would also say that its not the worst film in the world. Songs were catchy.

The film is definitely Varun's show from start to end. I also felt that Arunoday Singh and Rajpal Yadav were quite effective as well. I think Varun acted quite well, the only problem is that the script could only get him so far - but he did his best and was successful with whatever he got! But I highly doubt any other newcomer could pull this role off like he did...maybe Ranveer Singh...but I don't think Aditya, Sushant, Siddharth, Arjun or Ayushman could do this role as well as Varun could. I don't think think they can attempt it! I think that should count for something.

The girls were highly disappointing. Illeana has to be the worst actress in the business. Shes even worse than Katrina, because at least Katrina is charming and has a screen presence, a sparkle in her eye and plus shes hot. Illeana is just DEAD in the eyes and lifeless. Maybe they got Illeana because she charges very less money but whatever the case, she is certainly the WORST thing in movie and she just needs to disappear. Her body is so disproportional that it was actually a huge turn off for me, she needs to really do something about her awkward body.

Nargis, LOOKED really hot and made up for the lack of beauty where Ileana is concerned. Her acting was pretty bad though.

David Dhawan's actresses are always full of life, charismatic and alive! Both Nargis and Ileana, don't live up to that and honestly both of them should just pack up and leave. I found Evenlyn Sharma to be better than them in the film! That says a lot!

Overall, I would give the film a 6/10 only for the strong performances by Varun, Arundoy Singh and Rajpal Yadav.

i agree

i loved kandireega

and i doubted how varun could pull off the character

i love Ram(original actor)

i think varun did well here for his second movie

Umm MTH is a strictly one time watch coz of d weak first half. I hated Varun's backpack dat he doesn't let go off even when fighting goons. 🥱 Varun has potential to be d next big thing...just wish he didn't remind me of Shahid Kapoor ever so often. Anyway after Varun d next best thing in dis flick was surprisingly Arunoday Singh, especially in d second half. People in d theatre where i was watching were laughing their heads off everytime dis awkwardly tall corrupt yet nerdy cop tried to woo d girl. 🤣 Saurabh Shukla was a riot. Ileana was a major turn off. D girl needs to eat. Visible laugh lines don't make a pretty picture. Kuch kha lo thodi energy ayegi so dat ur screen presence is not so thanda as it was in dis flick. Nargis is a BAD actress but everytime she came on screen there was a spark to d proceedings coz Ileana was so damn insipid. D film was an okay experience. 😆

Main Tera Hero Battles Cricket, Wins Over Audience - VARUN DHAWAN emerges as a STAR | 1st Weekend Box Office Collections

One expected an average opening of around 60% for Main Tera Hero. While at an all-India level the footfalls were a tad lower than this, the collections were still good enough to ensure that around 21 crore came over the weekend for the Balaji production. Of course the film deserved more, considering the fact that the content warrants much higher occupancy. However, and as expected, cricket played a major spoilsport on Friday as well as Sunday, what with India playing all important Semi-Finals and Finals.

The good news for the film is that word of mouth amongst the audience is good and current generation has woken up to David Dhawan brand of music. That lends ample promise for the film to stay stable right through the weekdays, more so since it is the solo release of the week and there isn't much competition from the past either. However, it would have to do really well in these days since on the coming Friday Bhoothnath Returns arrives which would find its own set of audience.

The biggest takeaway of the film is emergence of a star in the form of Varun Dhawan. The youngster has done everything which is required from a hero and Main Tera Hero is a showreel which brings him in the zone from where he can soon catch up with Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh.

As for the other release of the week, Jal, it was a non-starter from the word Go. With reviews too being largely mixed and the critical acclaim too not of the kind that helps films of this genre to find some foothold at multiplexes, Jal' can't expect a long run for itself.

Main Tera Hero showed 10 % growth at the box office as it collected 8.1 cr on its 3rd day, Sunday taking the 1st weekend box office collection to 21.1 cr. The movie managed to show good growth on Sunday in spite of having the cricket match in the evening.

The film started on a good note on Sunday and the occupancy was higher than the previous two days and because of this factor only the movie was able to show a good growth in spite of the cricket match

In normal cases the weekend would have been 23-23.5 cr but overall it is an average result for a movie which was having good expectation box office wise.

The movie has collected more than Ileana's last release Phata Poster Nikhla Hero and both were mass appealing films with hit music while it is touch higher than Balaji's second last release Shaadi Ke Side Effects (21.06 cr)

The movie is better at places like Gujarat and Rajasthan though even some mass belts have also not performed up to the expectations. The movie showed good growth in metros and big urban cities where it had a dull first day to start.The film has quite high costs (40 - 41 cr inclusive of all ) considering the star cast of the movie.

Watched the movie yest..

It was an out and out Varun's show.. Im a telugite, have watched kandireega, so certain comic scenes i preferred the telugu version, but MTH was no less entertaining..

Varun for his second movie has delivered really really well, felt so happy coz he dint fail my expectations that i laid on him after watching SOTY👏..

This guy is here to stay !!

Ileana and Varun look so good together, she's petite makes a good match to him, Nargin looked older to him in many scenes, and i cannot stand Nargis onscreen, so watching her was a pain. Ileana dint have much to offer in this though..

the whole movie basically belonged to Varun and he was so full of energy in this movie, his dialogue delivery has gotten even better in MTH as compared to SOTY, their is growth, he is a good dancer, comic timing is really good😆..

Hope this movie does decent business.. 👍🏼

Im rooting for this guy to succeed even more now after watching MTH😳

p.s: I would rate this a 3.5/5.

music: Other than palat i dint like any other song much, music was disappointing.. It could have been better.
