Main Tera Hero (Fri-Sat) 2nd Day Collection At Box Office

Director David Dhawan's latest venture Main Tera Hero has debut with good response and done a decent collection at the Indian Box Office on Friday and Saturday. Considering its solo release this weekend and the hype surrounding it, the business of the film was expected to be far better than its present performance, but the movie was affected by examination and cricket fever.

Main Tera Hero has been creating positive buzz, ever since it hit the floor. The funny dialogues featured in its promos had added more hype for it, making the film goers wait desperately for its release. So this quirky comedy with a dash of freshness was expected to start with a bang at the domestic Box Office. But the movie opened to an average response with its occupancy ranging between 35% and 45% on Friday.

The Varun Dhawan, Ileana D'Cruz and Nargis Fakhri starrer collected Rs 6.60 crores nett in the domestic market on its first day. Having garnered a strong positive word of mouth, the film showed decent growth in its business on Saturday with its collection crossing Rs 7.25 crores nett. Main Tera Hero has collected Rs 14.85 crores nett at the Indian Box Office in two days. It is expected to show a big leap on Sunday and take its first weekend total beyond Rs 25 crore.

Main Tera Hero showed good growth on Saturday of around 30% but it was expected due to the loss of business on Friday due to the cricket. The collection on Saturday were around 7 crore nett which takes the two day business to 12.50 crore nett.

Sunday again will be hit the cricket 20/20 World Cup Final involving India, the only plus is that its an evening match so the peak Sunday business in the afternoon will go unscathed. .

The best case scenario for the weekend looks to be 20 crore nett and even if somehow the 20 crore nett figure comes its still an under performing weekend and the key becomes Monday and the trend between Monday and Tuesday.

Maine Tera Hero

First time I am seeing Varun's work., and omg I am his fan...

Not much of story but the ckts are brilliantly used and its a Comedy movie all over. Complete entertainment.

Jokes are very good, be it simple or a bit of double meaning wale, good casting over all, Angad was good too

Illena was ok ok , she hardly had to speak and when ever she had to make naaraz face she was bad at it, Nargis was as usual there and not there just like Katz

Every actor in movie enjoyed working and it was so obvious with their actions and all, esp dance section

4/5 extra one for Varun, I love him now

Main Tera Hero is a film that ideally one mustn't write about because honestly there isn't much to write about in the first place.

There is no logic, no great story, has catchy but average songs, is loud in its appeal yet this film touches your heart, makes you smile and on several occasions makes you laugh aloud. What is the reason for this? The reason is just one - Narendra Modi. Really?? No! No! I am kidding. The reason is just one - Dhawans. The father-son duo cast a spell on an audience that is completely hypnotized. So you ignore the many flaws including the presence of an annoying thing called Nargis F&$kri. I ain't typing her last name. It's too offensive. What's more offensive than her last name is her screen presence. Why must anyone cast her? Why can't someone else dub for her? Why can't she just not exist?

Anyway coming to the film you are transported back to an era where Govinda ruled, where films had no logic but great dance moves and witty one liners, where you could "fall "in love over a banana peel and where a film without Shakti Kapoor would have been like Congress without Gandhis. Throughout Main Tera Hero you are reminded of all those fun films you watched as a child. I loved the humor despite it being slapstick. I loved the dance moves and what I loved most was the performances.

Varun Dhawan's repulsive butt cleavage left more of an impact on your mind than his performance in SOTY. But in Main Tera Hero you realize that Varun is a star. He charms you with his Harami antics and great comic timing. He can dance and romance, he can shed his clothes and tears, and he can fight and delight. He can do it all so effortlessly. Varun Dhawan is clearly the film's biggest strength.

Illeana D'Cruz is another actor to watch out for. She was good in Barfi but with Main Tera Hero she tries to break free from the "serious" tag and give the audience a glimpse of her "fun" side. Arunodaya Singh looks like a beefy Mr. Bean and has some funny moments in this film. He finds a great partner in Rajpal Yadav who is hilarious in Main Tera Hero. Saurabh Shuklani in the few scenes he has makes sure you are entertained.

David Dhawan delivers a film that his surprisingly clean by his standards. There is humor without offending anyone. No gay jokes. No midgets and handicapped people. Here is a man who seems to be in complete command over his ship.

My final verdict -

Main Tera Hero is a quintessential David Dhawan film meant for his loyal followers. There may be no logic but there is ample of Dhawan magic. Go watch this one preferably with a crazy bunch of moviegoers.

Chevz!!! You'd love this if you have liked any of the following - Hero No.1, Judwaa, Biwi No.1, Haseena Maan Jayegi, Coolie No.1, Deewana Mastana - Basically David Dhawan classics. Varun is no Salman or Govinda. It's not fair to even compare them. But he has his own charm that along might remind us of our fav.

By the all 4 songs are more fun on screen. My personal fav - GALAT BAAT HAI

I envy Varun's style in that song aye. Mint, swagger.
