I would have expected him to name Madhuri who he's worked with in many films. But then again Ash worked with him in Taal, a lovely music and dance film.. Where she totally rocked!

Taal was above average in India and broke records internationally without resorting to suggestive/vulgar songs like Choli Ke Peeche. That too for a heroine centric film. 🥳 😆

I don't think anyone considers TAAL a failure. More people probably saw it than you think. Roger Ebert liked it so much he wrote about it and hosted Ghai at film festivals in the US.
