The trailer was okay. I haven't read the book so I'm not too sure how Arjun's character is supposed to be? because from the trailer he comes across as somewhat lazy and passive. Unless that's just Arjun's way of attempting the character..not sure. Alia looks her best here I feel. I see chemistry between the two..so hopefully it'll be good.

I have a question. Aren't Tamilian and Madrasi supposed to mean the same thing since Madras is the old name of Chennai and Chennai is the capital of TN? So was that "yeh toh Madrasi hain" line supposed to be a slur or just something said matter of factly?

I liked Amrita the most. She clearly blew everyone out of the water. Usually I can't stand these loud Punjabi mother in law characters because the actors over do it. But Amrita is just right.

This is nearly, literally the way I'd imagined this book, when I was reading it 😆

I don't know if thats a massively impressive feat, the story isn't the most complex of the lot haha. But it's defo one of my most awaited films =) It looks great!

I have read the book and didn't see any indication of Krish being lazy or passive, which is why I am not satisfied by Arjun's glimpses in the trailer. Krish is supposed to be head over heels in love with ananya which I can't really see in the trailer, he needs to put more energy in his performance.

That was the biggest problem I had with the trailer - Arjun's laziness and monotonousness. 😆 It actually seems like Arjun isn't really acting because this is how he comes across offscreen. I'm reading how he looks the part..which is fine...but in terms of acting? I feel Arjun could've done way better. Hopefully after seeing the entire movie, I can be proven wrong.

It is a subtle semi-slur. It refers to the tendency of North Indians to refer to all South Indians as 'madrasi' without heed to actual heritage. It also refers to the tendency of North Indians to look down on South Indians as dark skinned and bookish folk. The remark makes more sense when the North-South divisive attitudes are played on.

I really wish someone like Raju Hirani had directed this movie.

Other than Amrita and Revathy, i found the trailer and the actors unimpressive. I am hoping, the movie is much better.

When his mediocre book like 3 mistakes of my life translated well on screen in the form of Kai Po che, i really have high hopes for this book to be translated well on screen.

IMO, 2 states is his best work out of all his books.
