Member topic: need opinions working for Ethnic boss

This is a topic to ask about in today’s tough job market and I know it is not Bollywood related. The world has changed for the worse after COVID. Many companies require employees to work in the office now. I found myself interviewing for an accounting job in San Diego. The manager was ethnic. I don’t want to say if he was Muslim, Indian, or even Chinese. All I can say is that I didn’t like his personality in the virtual interview. He was very rigid. I got offered the job but I said no because I don’t want to work for an Ethnic boss. They are demanding slave drivers and I don’t want to be fired. I had reservations. I am only human right? Whereas there is another company which has a white American boss and she is highly respected and personable. I felt more comfortable. I need to make a living and working is hard in this day and age. My field is stressful. I have spent over 20 years working in a field I despise. I wish I could stop working. What do you think? Please give me your opinions. I value them

it’s strange you said Muslim, Indian, or Chinese, 2 are nationalities and 1 is a religion

I have a final interview for that job on Monday of next week (white manager) and it’s virtual. I feel so dumb for rejecting the job in San Diego but the manager wasn’t friendly. He could have been but I didn’t feel comfortable based on the virtual interview.
