@Smarie, agree with you. Abhishek has been very lucky in the kind of roles he has got...3 Mani Ratnam films with fabulously written, author-backed role and he could not make one work!😕
I saw the hindi Raavan and then I saw the tamil version with Vikram essaying the same role. OMG...the difference between both the actors is astronomial! Abhishek cannot get even a fraction of Vikram's intensity or depth in the way he portrays the character! Any wonder, Raavan made money in the Tamil Version and sank without a trace in the hindi one!
Same with Yuva...look at the way Madhavan gets under the skin of the character and the way Abhishek cartoonifies the very same character in the hindi version! (And surprisingly Rani does as great a job as Meera Jasmin did in the tamil version!)
Agree, that Abhishek might be a nice guy off-screen (well even that is under threat after this episode of KWK😆), but he has always been over-rated as an actor by critics. He is very average, he does well in films like Dostana and BB, but give him a multi-layered character like in Yuva or Raavan and he flounders so badly.
And whom is he taking a dig at? Hrithik? Even if Senior B would make a film for his son, can Abhishek guarantee to bring in the numbers at the BO like Hrithik does? So what if Rakesh Roshan made Krrish for his son, even Hrithik turned it into a money spinner. It works both ways!
Also, either have the acting chops of an Irfaan Khan or Jack Nicholson and then look like a bag of potatoes for all one cares, or make the effort to at least look presentable if you are in the profession of acting in films. Whatever the likes of Sushant and Ranveer might be, they keep themselves fit because they value their fans and realize that part of their success and their future in bollywood depends on how good (and fit) they look!
PS: Cannot take anyone who made a film like TMK seriously. Certainly not if that person is married to someone who made a film like Joker!😆

Ya...your dad probably has the maximum chest hair in the Industry, but ask your mom if she trusts him even one bit!😆

poppy...🤗...missed ur awesome posts...

abhishek as an actor just comes with a huge disconnect to me onscreen...like therz no passion, no spontaneity, no originality in what he does...i see all those things in the new actors like ranveer and sushant...they might still have a long way to go and improve as actors, but they "work" onscreen...abhishek dosent...

he lacks charisma, he lacks screen presence and thats got nothing to do with looks...look at D3...aamir is like this short, stout, kiddish looking umpa lumpa and abhsihek is much taller and mature looking...but abhishek still didnt look like he could take on aamir in their confrontation scenes...i find that hilarious actually.😆

plus, he just gives this lazy vibe...so lazy...vikram and madhavan bought so much more depth into those roles...and even surya who dubbed for him in Guru (Tamil version) made HIM look so much better merely because of his dialogue delivery...

i never liked him as an actor but i liked him as a guy offscreen...acting never seemed like his thing anyway...but now he just seems too bitter and lazy...

Hey Smars🤗 So nice to catch up with you again!!!
Abhishek is watchable, but as you said, its very difficult to connect with him as an audience, the way we connect with the Khans or the new brigade...film stars, whether or not they can act, should have charisma in them...and Abhi sorely lacks it!
Not surprised that he sounds bitter and put-off here..even though D3 is a BB, he doesn't stand to benfit in any way and he is not getting any younger...the chances of him succeeding any more than he is now are bleak if not impossible. If he was anyone but Big B's son, it wouldn't have pinched so much, but the comparisons probably just don't leave him in peace!

LMFAO @ ABhishek saying that Dhoom series is his and Uday;s...Does he really think that?

Dhoom has always been about the villains (John, hrithik-Ash, Aamir/Kat) Abhishek has never contributed to the hype LOL That cracked me.

Thank you..I thought i was the only one who thought Abhishek is a mediocre actor..He was great in Guru but thats where it ends..Its almost criminal to compare Vikram with Abhi😆 I hated Raavan but Vikram was outstanding in the Tamil version..But again, its unfair to compare him to an actor of Vikram's caliber. Many think Tere Naam is Salman's best performance till date and while i agree he was good, Vikram totally pawns him in the Tamil version..Like there is no comparison tbh😆

What a boring episode... Abhisheik, more than Sonam, you have a foot in your mouth and not in a good way... Looking good is a part of being a BOLLYWOOD ACTOR... That is half of the deal... Otherwise, people like Katrina would have been out long back... Looks save your ass big time in this industry weather he likes it or not... It's the truth so deal with it...

And I really don't understand what is wrong in being Amitabh Bachchan's son???? What the hell is the pressure..?? In fact these people got it easier than Ranveer or Deepika or Kangana who they seem to be so bitter about... They got more than one chance to prove their mediocre skills... If Abhishiek feels pressured or people think that it is a pressure for him to be a certain celebrities son, than I'm sorry, but he may be in the wrong profession... And Farah Khan needs to understand that this industry does not revolve around these star kids and what not... There is a world outside the industry where we support good work... These star kids can go play tea party for all I care but the reality is, most of the outsiders are way more hardworking, talented, dedicated because they didn't get it easily... They had to work for it and actually showcase a certain level of talent and appeal to be recognized whereas you guys are introduced as so and so's daughter or son... Blah... He is looking like a mess... Salman, Shahrukh, and Aamir are all older than him yet those guys are working their butts off and doing training and gym to actually look decent or fit for a role and this guy comes out trying to be ignorant and arrogant about it... Pfffttt... Sorry Abhishiek but Dhoom 3's attraction was never you and Uday.. If he thinks him and Uday are the reason for the Dhoom series to be what it is, he is seriously in a bitter delusional world... It was always about John, Hrithik, or Aamir... When was the last time a film worked out when Abhishiek Bachchan or Uday Chopra were the main attraction... ?? That's right, I can't remember... Abhishiek isn't a good actor in my opinion... He is only made for certain roles... He frankly has nothing to offer any director as he thinks he does because frankly, there isn't a role of his where I can't think of someone else who couldn't have done it better... Whereas, I can't imagine anyone else other than Ranbir doing a Barfi, or Ranveer doing a Ram-Leela/Lootera, or SRK doing a DDLJ/Chak De India, or Irrfan Khan doing Paan Singh Tomar... I honestly don't think he has much to offer at all other than his Bachchan title
