I alr3ady told I never understood the craze of Siddharth Malhotra in IF, thought he is just another teenage sensation. But I did spend my money watching that newcomer as I liked the feel of the movie nd few songs. After watching I really got surprised as Sid M was really sweet, natural and looked effortless in the role Nikhil. So before judging and commenting lamely just to mock, first go and watch or wait to catch it up in tv as you may not spend ur money fr craps as claimed.

That's a trend here..they just talk on the basis BO numbers..as if they even get a penny from the collections 🥱
The logic here is that if it was doing well then it was because of Pari but if its bad then SidM's fault.

Oh ok, then the concept is itself is illogical and there is no point in arguing. Let them be . But as all the reviews and even who have watched the movie categorically mentioned Sid M and he actually was not overshadowed by Parineeti is a great thing fr him I guess. So let it be.

That's the best part..he is getting mentioned and is not overshadowed by Pari..he holds his own place. Many people who never liked him started liking him now...he is talented for sure! Decent performance according to a second film.

Yuppers, you can definitely count me in there. And this is coming from someone who liked Varun better than Sid in SOTY. I wasn't impressed with him at all in SOTY, used to think "Oh another one of the boys with 6 packs, mehh nothing new". But yes, I really liked him in the movie. He played from a reckless teen to a mature, cute, caring, boy next door with ease. Hope he gets chance to show case what he has to offer since his face is already the cherry on the cake. Hope he concretes that cake of his as well.

Hasee Toh Phasee Has Good Growth On Saturday

Sunday 09 February 2014 11.30 IST

Box Office India Trade Network

Hasee Toh Phasee had good growth on Saturday as it collected around 5.25-5.50 crore nett on Saturday adding to the 4 crore nett on Friday which takes the two day business to around 9.25-9.50 crore nett.

The growth on Saturday means the film has chances of putting up decent weekend figures if it can show more growth today. The growth on Saturday was all over, at some places it was inevitable as Friday was so low while metros where it was fair on day one showed very good growth.

The growth on Saturday is a solid 30-35% and if the film can repeat the same growth on Sunday then there are probably good chances of the film sustaining on Monday. The first two day business of the film is as follows.

Friday - 3.95 crore

Saturday - 5.25-5.50 crore approx

GO TEAM HTP..

🥳

Haee to Phasee Sunday Collections Update : Good Start

February 09, 2014

Hasee Toh Phasee has started on good note on Sunday (3rd Day) Morning shows in Multiplexes across India. Film has opened to 40% occupancy on Sunday Morning shows and it should sustain well on that level through the day. Film may have underperformed on first day, but recovered well on Saturday to show good jump. Now on Sunday film has open to expected level and looks like it is heading for a decent opening weekend.

HTP has registered occupancy of 45% in Delhi City in Morning shows. In Gurgaon occupancy is in the range of 45-50% for the same. In Mumbai Morning shows occupancy is in the range of 35%. However Reports are still average from interiors as film is struggling to find foothold there. Overall Sunday start is good and hope that film continues its march through the whole day.

Occupancy on Sunday Morning Shows (Selected Cinemas).

Delhi: 45% (Saturday: 40%, Friday: 25%)
Gurgaon: 45-50% (Saturday: 25%, Friday 20%).
Mumbai: 35% (Saturday: 25%, Friday 20%).

Hasee Toh Phasee: Science meets 'sanskar'
Ads by Google
Sudhish Kamath

It's all about chemistry. What happens when you take all-about-loving-your-parents from the Karan Johar brand of cinema and try to blend it with rebellion-against-the-system from the Kashyap school?

What happens when you take a generous dose of sanskaar and Shaadi rituals and add drugs and dysfunction to it?

What happens when you reverse the gender types? When you make the girl an explorer, a restless geek with a drug problem and make the boy rooted to family values and commitment?

What happens when the boy needs to pay the bride money to marry and the girl comes to rescue him from his routine?

What happens when you take a feisty Parineeti Chopra and pair her with Sidharth Malhotra?

And like most chemistry exercises, Vinil Mathew's Hasee Toh Phasee is an experiment but a fun one at that. There's a lot that explodes but also a little that fizzles out. Love it or hate it, you have to give it points for trying.

The Bollywood romantic comedy is mostly a rigid type and a genre with many trappings. You need to have young heartthrobs in the lead, involve the parents, respect and recognise the sanctimony of the marriage and in between all this, give the guy and the girl some time to bond and fall in love.

And Vinil Mathew's film wants to change this type from the inside. So he retains the template but tweaks it from inside with interesting shades of grey " like turning Parineeti into a runaway Rain Man with a drug problem, who steals money from home on the eve of her sister's wedding only to return to steal again on the eve of the other sister's wedding... because, we don't know, maybe that's how much she loves her family. And drugs here are treated like chocolate addiction. Breaking Bad in good mode... because hey, it is a Bollywood romcom. Instead of Alok Nath, we have Manoj Joshi.

But the writing (story and screenplay by Harshvardhan Kulkarni and the dialogue credits include Anurag Kashyap) salvages quite a lot of these convolutions. The support characters are all given little quirks and delivered by a solid ensemble. The guy with Anu Malik songs in his head, especially, is a hoot, more when he is channelling his inner Daya' (from CID).

It is to Parineeti's credit that she makes an extremely inconsistent character even slightly believable but Adah Sharma has no such luck, stuck in a one note character of a bride holding a wedding to ransom. Sidharth Malhotra is the biggest surprise of the film, playing the perfect foil to Parineeti. He is the coy heroine to Parineeti's heroics for most of the part, but since there are also scenes to remind us about the tomboyish girl's femininity when the boy helps her with the strings of her choli. There are a few such moments that keep cropping up to remind us this is from the Dharma Productions stable.

But the fine little details, the quips and the quirks and the twist to the clich make it a fairly watchable film. Works for a date.

Hasee Toh Phasee

Genre: Romance

Director: Vinil Mathew

Cast: Parineeti Chopra, Sidharth Malhotra, Adah Sharma, Manoj Joshi, Sharat Saxena

Storyline:Crazy science girl meets simple, sanskaari boy a week before his wedding to her sister

Bottomline: A better than average romantic comedy

Keywords: Hasee Toh Phasee review, Parineeti Chopra, Sidharth Malhotra, Adah Sharma
