I think India is still far better than the condition of women in Middle Eastern countries. Just last week there was something in the newspaper of how a 16 year old was killed by her father because she called her fiance. This happened in Saudi I believe.

Anywho! It's never right to kill or harm anyone deliberately. Screw your izzat and honor, it doesn't give you the right to take away someone else's life.

I understand that religion and culture is important but not to the point where it forces one to take someone's life away. And no religion will tell you to kill a young girl for a mistake. Especially when it's your own loved one! If a girl has made a mistake and got pregnant, don't you think she's scared about being a mother at a tender age? That she needs some help and advice? And instead of helping her out, too many people in India think it's okay to go ahead with these "honour killings". Yes, I personally think teenage pregnancies are unfortunate but the way to deal with them is not by killing someone else.

I understand that we might have different views on what's right and wrong but killing someone is just unacceptable. I hope you realize this.

she ran away from home during her 5-6 months of pregnancy.. and went to municiplty for help they helped and sent them to away from their parents..
i jsut dont get it how the parents took it .
main hoti.. i would have burried the girl alive ..

What sort of honour could you possibly have by killing your own child? Burying someone alive is infinitely times more worse than getting pregnant at 16, you'd be a murderer, there are better ways to deal with this than to kill someone off.

There is nothing wrong with this thread. It's a good topic of discussion. TM is asking abt honor killings in Bollywood.

On topic - Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak also had an honor killing.
