Asian shows for romance lovers (the ones i've watched, been recommended):

My name is kim sam soon (korean)...YES!
Silence (taiwanese)....YES!
Hana kimi (taiwanese version)....YES!
Hana yori dango (japanese)...YES!
Boys over Flowers (korean version of hana yori dango)...prefer the japanese version. couldn't finish it. Now I'm going back and watching it. Didn't know there were 25 epis.
Meteor garden (taiwanese version of hana yori dango). watched couple of epis. prefer japanese version.
Mars (taiwanese) watched some epis. was highly recommended.
Scent of a woman (korean)...YES!
goong (korean)...good, boring at times
coffee prince (korean)...overall, good
dae jang guem (korean)...it is 54 epis long and historical period drama. watched with my dad. great memories. awesome show.
City hall (korean)...YES!
the rose (taiwanese)...YES!
lie to me (korean)...entertaining
Full house (korean)...YES!
the greatest love (korean)...YES!
autumn's concerto (taiwanese)....okay
autumn's tale (korean)...i love the story when they are young!
The moon embraces the sun (korean)...historical romance...YES!
my girl...good
Secret garden...gosh i love the ost, both male and female version.
Personal preference...I stopped watching when they leads fell for each other

I'll think of more...

Pakistani
Humsafar...YES, even if considered overrated. it's a gem to me.
Noor Bano...my first pakdrama. skimmed a lot.
Maat...just finished it...YES!
Mera naseeb...stopped at the part where the character played by imran abbas eyed nazia, was suppper pissed. dunno why. dunno if i'll go back to watching it. Most of the male characters portrayed in dramas are such a**holes so far. but i guess that adds to the reality aspect. you won't get the usual and typical romanticised male leads.
behadd...yes!
Zindagi gulzar hai... agreed with a previous post, the story was quite slow at times. still have to go back and fully watch it.
Dastaan
Shehr e zaat
Khuda aur mohabbat

Looking forward to watching more in due course.

The story of child bride in rehaai reminded me of the movie osama. HIghly recommende!!!!

Watched most of the shows mentioned here...

Amongst the Korean ones I have one more to add:
BRIDAL MASK! It's dark...but I loved it. (I just saw .DejaVu mentioned it 😊)
My second best after City Hunter.

But I think, put all TV shows(English, American,Indian,Pakistani,Korean) on a rack...and I'd still blindly pick up SHERLOCK.

These pakistani dramas are 😭 I'm so addicted to it now that I'm not even willing to watch the US shows anymore. Also I have oblivion, and fast and the furious 6, evil dead, dark skies, and olympus has fallen putlocker links loaded...BUT I'd rather watch dur-e-shehwar now 😭

Thank you for sharing my sentiments...comparable to Twilight indeed.

Humsafar is the most overrated Pakistani show in recent times. If it weren't for Fawad and Naveen I would've probably stopped the show half way. Far better shows out there to say the least. Oh and Durre Shahwar on the other hand was amazing. So many people connected with Durre Shahwar..and as you said, you have to watch it with an open mind or else you'll just nitpick.

You're welcome!
And OMG...you think EXACTLY like me. I watched only coz of Sara's character. She was the only character in the show that had some shades to her.

Durr E Shahwar is perfection and poetry in motion. But more than that...it leaves you with a sense of understanding. Like you take something from it.
Shandana's father's letters...any girl who is attached to her father should feel this. 😭

Btw guys here is the trailer/OST of Durr E Shahwar, the one we've been talking about.

Mogli you shall recognize the actress!
There are two lead actresses. Shahwar, depicting the mother's early years of marriage.
And Shandana, the daughter.

I know many women relate to the show DURR-E-SHEHWAR! as many women end up sacrificing! however I disagree with the thought of only women have the power to sacrifice! I think it is time to change the thinking!

@Desu: I agree. I loved DES and now Kankar too b/c it has Sanam (beautiful actress) but the pace was so good. There was no "perfect" character and it was written in a more realistic tone. I'm so glad I found Pakistani dramas, they are so good and I won't lie some of them are a notch above Indian dramas nowadays.

BTW: Did you guys know Gul Khan wanted to do an Indian TV show with Fawad Khan. I'm not sure if it was for Qubool Hai or maybe something else, but she's been meaning to get him for a while now, but it hasn't been working out.
