A serial which is not mentioned in this thread but is definitely a must watch is "Malaal".. good story & acting with no over the top moments.. one of my favorites.

I loved Humsafar but yeah to an extent it is overrated. I have watched ZGH this month fully and I enjoyed it but at times both were annoying lol. Mera Naseeb currently airs on Rishtey and I love every single episode man. It is a very well made drama except Syra who plays Nazia cannot act well. Sanam Saeed plays her role well.

I need to make a list of some of the dramas being mentioned. I love Pakistani dramas as well. I should watch these ones more than I do of Indian ones.

Hetal I watch DABH as well, I have a love-hate about it, it's just I hate how the whole Meena baby issue is being dragged on and when will Bhabho realise that Sandhya is innocent completely.

PS I've been keeping tabs on QH although I have never watched a single episode and love how Tanveer has been exposed now the romance can start😳

Honestly, the concept is nice but it tends to drag on and on. At first I loved the female lead b/c she was smart and stubborn and protested against her MIL then she in the right but now she's that quiet, submissive wife/DIL and only speaks up here and there. I wish there was a show with more practical, modern issues. But like I said, the showdowns are always less acted and dialouges are nice!

QH is so interesting nowadays. But ti's a 4Lions production for in another 6 months it might be horrible b/c Gul always starts off well and then goes to make another show and screws up her last one. It's the same pattern with her.

@Usman I am sorry but I find all Umera Ahmed's stories misogynistic! including shehr-e-zaat, durr-e-shehwar! even Zindagi Gulzar had shades of misogyny in it!

though i havent been a fan of ZGH but it depicted what actually happens in reality most of the time.
anyway, i'll suggest you to watch Daam, Uraan, malaal & Qaid-e-tanhaai... they might change your opinion.

Humsafar was so stereotyped.
There was the Evil saas.
The ideal Pakistani hero.
The sati savitri heroine
The modern side character Sara "evil"

Why was the mother in law so evil? She had no morality whatsoever!

And the conspiracies and black and white characters did my head in.

Durr e Shahwar was notches above because there was no black and white. All characters were flawed in their own way.
The mother in law was shown as a woman, not a caricature. It was explained why she behaved the way she did. Shahwar's behavior initially was also not justified, she failed to understand how the class differences affected family dynamics.

Durr e Shahwar is the story of most Pakistani women and families.

My mom related to it, as did my Paki roommate. It connected to women across the ages.

My mom went through EXACTLY what Shahwar went through. My roommate teared up coz she instantly connected with Shandana.

Anyway, you have your opinion and I have mine.
D e S should be watched with an open mind. You have to watch it with the larger picture in mind, and not get hung up on one issue

Thank you for sharing my sentiments...comparable to Twilight indeed.

Humsafar is the most overrated Pakistani show in recent times. If it weren't for Fawad and Naveen I would've probably stopped the show half way. Far better shows out there to say the least. Oh and Durre Shahwar on the other hand was amazing. So many people connected with Durre Shahwar..and as you said, you have to watch it with an open mind or else you'll just nitpick.
