Feeling so sorry for Ameesha... there were lots of hopes for her great comeback from this movie, as she looked totally transformed in the visuals and posters.
Sadly she got no appreciation, and in almost all reviews the critics only wrote for her "her character appeared forced" ... that's it about her as her comeback :(

Even Jacqueline didn't got that much appreciation.
Again that over rated, highly over hyped and a wooden Deepika Padukone got all the limelight... luck is forsure favoring her big time despite being not that talented.

I am confused, what fate has now for Ameesha in the future... her polonged jinxed career phase is not seeming to end anytime soon.
Feeling really sad for our onetime' promising future superstar of kaho na pyar hai, Gadar & Humraaz :(

Even Sameera's role was more appreciated than Ameesha in all the reviews of Race 1

even dpad is not appreciated! most of the reviews said her character is half baked!

seems unlike first one where kat and bips had integral roles- here women were just used as showpieces!

as for ameesha- she was finished in 2002! rest of the crap in the name of a career is all due to her being delusional and not accepting the fact that she is finished!

even komal nahta said on her face that after two BB's she was expected to rule but she is no where in the race!

sameera HAS GOOD COMIC TIMINGS- she nailed her role! not once she went OTT and all the reviews praised her but ameesha made it appear vulgar and tacky and all the reviews have said that

here is what koimoi said- HILARIOUS!

Ameesha Patel gets into the skin of her air-head act and is a good reminder of why you don't see much of her in films anymore

WHATTAY SLAP!

she is nothing but a joke- even komal was laughing while interviewing her as NO ONE takes her seriously!

Itna kharab aur kadwa nahi boltay kisi kay liye Koiza, no matter what

she also has dreams. and who knows ... this industry can do miracles for anyone

delusional or not, but I feel sorry for her...
she has suffered alot even in her private life for a very long time...

and what is a career by the way... who will know even a madhuri dixit or even a sridevi or rekha after like 30 years from now ...:(
as most of the new kids in teens today dont even know the names of one times' queens madhubala, nargis and meena kumari

that's the reality of this short life which is just a test place...
and I believe Ameesha is a much better person than many in the industry, whether a career or not a career. Its all short lived and temporary for everyone.

It's not Ameesha's fault that her character wasn't appreciated, she did what she was required to do. After all, no actor can rise above the script.

She had more screen time than Sameera in Race, but this time Anil's character was more of an add on and he didn't contribute to the happenings like in the prequel. It seemed like they were both included to add star value and nothing more.

Take them out of the film and it wouldn't have affected the plot much, but all the characters were half baked this time around and the writing was very weak so it's not any actor's fault that the film didn't work.

Anyway, Ameesha always maintained this is only a special appearance and her real comeback as a leading lady is Shortcut Romeo. The trailer has been well received and it's a remake of a hit Tamil flick by the same director, so I'm hopeful about this one!

How can she MAKE IT appear vulgar?! She was required to wear lesser clothes than Sameera, and Anil's fruit jokes were distasteful and had double meanings (more so than the prequel). It's nowhere her fault that her role didn't work, put anyone else in her place and it wouldn't have made a difference. Usually when a film turns out vulgar, the writer is blamed and not the actors.

but i didn't find sameera vulgar despite all those double meaning lines etc! in such cases it is upto actors to FIND AND DRAW A LINE which sameera did but ameesha could not! she mostly gets carried away in her roles like she did in AMALL with all the crying!
