I recall back in the early party of the last decade they were no. 1 and everyone wanted to work with them. 6 consecutive super hits . Saathyia Hum Tum Dhoom VZ Bunty Babli and Salaam Namaste. Next few ears they had hits and flops .

2006 - 2 hits fanaa Dhoom 2 1 flop Kabul Express
2007 - 4 flops Ta RA Rum Pum JBJ Aaja Nachley and LCMD 1 hit CDI
2008 - 3 flops Tashan TPTM RR 2 hits Bah and RnBDJ
2009- 1 hit Ny 2 flops Dbh and Rocket Singh
2010 - 2 hits BC & BBB 2 flops PYaar impossible and LP
2011 - 1 hit MBKD and 1 flop LVRB

This year though they have 3 bonafide successes Isaqzaade JTHJ and Ek Tha Tiger and no flops

The also have some good films for 2013 Dhoom 3 Gunday Aurangez 1 movie with Sushant Singh and 1 with Vicky donor guy

So I'm asking are the back on top now

BO wise they're doing better now than a few years ago, but I don't think they're "back on top" yet. They should look to experiment more given that they are such a big production house. I'd say UTV is more on top..they experiment with their projects..you get masala and content both from them. Innovative promotional strategies, they give chances to lesser known people, along with the big-wigs.

No.
They're playing it safe by signing up the biggest superstars, but as far as content goes, their films are far from being quality.

UTV is the best production house so far, coz they're truly doing pathbreaking trendsetting films.

They have mostly past glory due to which they get biggest stars to work with them. Subtract the 3 Khan films from their oeuvre in recent years, and their record is pretty average. In past they were in a position to make/revive a star from a scratch. Nowadays they need a star to make big money. Content-wise they're quite behind others. UTV is clearly ahead.

I think they have a pretty decent eye for talent though, at least in terms of the actors they launch...in the last few years, they launched Arjun, Parineeti, Ranveer, Anushka...they're all decent enough actors, other issues not withstanding.

It's too early to say honestly... It depends on their luck and the kind of films they sign...but my point was at least YRF didn't launch complete non-actors, even if they aren't the best looking folks in Bollywood...they are all actors with the potential of getting there one day. Parineeti and Ranveer were especially great in their first film and nowhere near bad in their second one.

Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl was not a flop actually. The film actually made more money than BBB. It just was that it wasa disappointing and bad film + so there was no hype.
Maybe UTV is on top right now because of the kind of films they are doing and the money they have made. But YRF Is still the most prestigious regardless of the money/film aspects.
