Yup! K786 had all the indgredients to become atleast a hit: action-comedy genre, hit music, Akshay fresh from the success of Housefull2, RR and OMG, founding member of 100cr club Asin as the heroine. But it was so repetitive that it didnt even open well. I saw the movie and I found it better than RR atleast. In 2013 and 2014 we are going to get so many such movies like Himmatwala, CE, Mental Radhe, Kick, Heropanti, Phata Poster, Rambo Rajkumar, Besharam to name a few. Then we will see people like Ranveer, Arjun also getting into the same genre. How many can we take?

Salman got the early bird advantage. But he too needs to expand his horizons to remain:

1. No. 1 to no. 10

2. Big B of this century

3. Rajnikanth of Bollywood

4. To continue competing with himself

Salman Khan's success on the big screen directly correlates with his super successful "Dus ka Dum" on the small screen.

See, Salman has always been portrayed as this arrogant, woman beating douchebag and Salman, who wasn't very media savvy in the past, didn't do anything to change that.

"Dus ka Dum" changed all of that. People saw the real Salman. The funny Salman, the witty Salman. The Salman, the whole industry vouched for.The Dus ka dum Salman was pretty damn likable.

Salman finally had a connect with his audience. He made new fans and his old fans only became stronger.

This wasn't the first time this has happened either. In the late 90's/early 00's AB sr was written off and KBC gave him a new lease of life.

I believe Dus ka Dum played a huge part in Salman's Khan rise to Rajnikanth territory. Ppl who haven't seen Dus ka dum, Sallu is awesome, a million times better than he's on Bigg Boss.

this is actually very very true...Dus Ka Dum indeed helped audience know who the REAL Salman Khan is...the problem with him has always been that he NEVER cared about the media, the image media was portraying of him...but DKD made people see the real side of Salman...in fact, just in his recent interview Salman himself said that when he went to one of the cities, people recognized and called him as Salman Khan, the host of Dus Ka Dum!!😊

@TM:Salman's star-power was never a question...even when his films were being flopped, it was said that he was/is beyond any hit and flop...he did really really bad movies...sometimes for his friends,etc etc...except for a few of the ones that flopped (like kyunki) all of those movies did deserve to flop lol...but his star-power always remained intact!!

he is stable its people who try to pull him down..dabangg 2 a success people can analyize whatever and say whatever main thing is Salman owned the movie and even more appreciated than ETT his last outing and the harshest critics praising him, and BOI which under estimates gave dabangg 2 a quicker tag than ETT or his other movies!!

On it did well overseas and became 5th biggest hit overseas of all time. Without Pakistan collections.

And to all who saying Dabangg 2 is failing, well to clear your misunderstanding DABANGG 2 was given the BLOCKBUSTER verdict in a week. Unlike some films struggling to get a hit.

Not all said Dabangg 2 was going to beat ETT.

Did ready beat Dabangg? No. It doesn't mean his star power is decreasing.

Infact all claiming about single screen star they should also learn that Dabangg 2 & ETT are highest grossers in multiplexes too.
