SRK also had no big hit or any hits in 1994, 1996, 1999, 2005 and 2009. That is 5 years out of 20 years. Compared to 7 years out of 24 years.
Secondly, Salmans films were always bigger, Maine Pyar Kiya was miles ahead both Aamir and SRK's debut films.
Salman had already delivered 3 annual hits and 2 All Time Blockbuster before SRKs DDLJ came. Salman after his debit gave constantly 5 back to back hits.
Finally Salman having most annual hit which neither Aamir or SRK is close of.

In Dabang, he plays corrupt policeman, who is basically a bully. He gets the traditional girl, who remember her place.(she also become wild in bed) he got to dance with the item girl.
Indian men want to be like his characters and Indian women had internalized their treatment.
