If it was the numbers that counted then Sallu would have been long gone, his track record prior to Dabangg was in ruins. It is the love of his fans that kept him around. So no, numbers are not a factor especially for actors like SRK-Aamir-Sallu.

Record setting? But this isn't some 100m sprint to break records. It's cinema which is a form of art

I'm not defending SRK's bad script sense at present but it's wrong to expect him to break BO records just because other Bollywood stars are going on great guns. So it's unfair to state that he has not done anything extraordinary post KKHH since the man did Swades, CDI, Don series (villain oriented) etc post 90's

Not that he never tried different, he did for quite a few but sadly his choice of movies are not that impressive at present. I'm not expecting miracles from him to do a path breaking movie of any sort, as a fan I just want him to do sensible good movies. Looking forward to the day he will keep peer pressure aside and focus on a good script :)
