JTHJ original or copy? SPOILER ALERT

For people who have watched Jab Tak Hai Jaan by now, you are all quite familiar with Meera's(Katrina Kaif's character)pact with god to save Shahrukh. This forms the core of the movie.

But it seems Aditya Chopra picked up this story idea from Gossip Girl season 5.

For people who are not familiar, in Gossip Girl Season 5, like Seasons 3 and 4 before it, featured Chuck & Blair coming this close to getting together, only to have fate intervene. Or most notably, in this case, a car crash that caused her miscarriage and his near death (again).

As a result of the crash, Blair also makes a pact with God that she will marry Louis ... which she does, but only after her true feelings are revealed on video just moments earlier, at which point the prince turns on her.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan plot sounds too familiar to this. Doesn't it ?

P.S: Anonymous below pointed out that the storyline is similar to the movie, The End of the Affair.
