Why are skeptics given better treatment than fans?

Different people react to situations differently.

When most people don't get much affected by your defending etc etc, some people could find it like its shoving opinions down others' throats.

VERY similar to how some fans could be pretty indifferent to cynics, while others are much more sensitive.

You'll meet every kind of fan and cynic in a public forum, so its not really much to question why people are the way they are is it...

Also, its funny, and from the bottom of my heart I don't have any specific person in my mind when I say this, but it seems as if fans who call themselves fans, assume that "cynics" aren't admirers of people... I've ecountered MANY people like this around here, and I've been around for long enough haha.

Not every cynic and fan need to be a certain way, to be called a cynic or a fan. So if one admirer doesn't believe in brightly advertising their positive opinions, it doesn't give much of a right for anyone to to consider them a cynic.

The fan will have a fight with the regular cynic over his/her fav actor. But the same fan will happily unite with the cynic in bashing an actor s/he doesn't like... which creates an imbalance between fans and cynics.

The only way this can change is when fans of a certain actor stand up against bullying against fans of other actors as well.

@ bold: Totally agree with this part and the whole post also. You will notice that cynics stick together with each other but fans of different actors rarely help each other out or rarely support each other. This has to change to make a difference. Fans of different actors should join together and help each other out in the time of need. Main toh keti hoon ek fan union bana leni chahiye. 😆

Just as a distinction, I'd like to also state that I'm talking about cynics/skeptics here, NOT haters.

Now before anyone jumps down my throat about using the words "hater". no, I'm not being a typical fan here who's gonna start branding everyone who doesnt worship my celeb as a hater. Let me elaborate.

There are fans, there are neutral members, there are skepctics, and then, there ARE haters. Yes my friends, they do exist, rare, but still present. 😆

How do you tell them apart? Like I said, skeptics tend to not get emotionally invested. They kinda mock celebrities for the fun of it. And their treatment is normally the same for all or most celebrities, barring a couple.

Haters are often members in denial who THINK they are skeptics or neutral, but are literally invested into hating a particular celebrity. I would put them into the same category as obsessive/blind fans. Hate is as capable of blinding as love is.

I would say I also fell into the category of hater once upon a time. I used to literally hate Shahid Kapur back in 2007. A couple of years knocked a few ounces of maturity and I'm back into somewhat sane territory 😆

All in all, I think that fans that mind their own business and arent being disrespectful to members should be given a LITTLE bit of respect even if they are indulging in defending. I'm WELL AWARE that opinions on India Forums are not gonna change anything in the larger scheme of things. Most of the time, its just my personality to argue back and forth and I enjoy debating. But come on guys, its not cool to then completely veer off topic and start commenting about how the defense is getting annoying. Really if its that annoying, just ignore it. Its not hurting your sentiments, right? Your not emotionally invested, right? So let the fans say their bit as long as its not something that's completely ridiculous/delusional/retarded. Now sure, if one day I start arguing that Kareena is a virgin and say its coz she hasnt admitted otherwise, yeah, you can then put me in delusional category. I permit it. 😆

I agree with your post and hate is indeed a strong word and emotion that's why I despise that word

Yes, HATE. Not hate as in I want somethign terrible to happen to him. But strongly dislike his personality and criticizing him was almost an emotional investment. So if I admit to having hated a particular celebrity, its not that far-fetched to have people who hate a particular celebrity today.

Now when I look back, I dont think that's healthy.

So that's just just clarifying, this topic is about the treatment towards cynics vs fans NOT haters vs fans.

Oh and then there is a rather unique category that NEEDS to be invented for some members.

I call these guys cynical fans, or CYNATICS.

And the honorary members who fall into this particular category are Dexter and Youknowme.

Dexter is ACTUALLY a Kareena fan, but boy oh boy, does she have the spiciest comments about Bebo's IQ & insecurity.

And this one was even harder.

Youknowme actually...LIKES Shahrukh. No really, its true. And her siggies are worth a thousand words. I cannot possibly do her justice in why she's a skeptic department.

I know it exists but is extremely unhealthy word, good you recognize that. I do agree that Phans should be allowed to have their views as long as logical and not get replies tht they worship the actor or actresses ground. Tht ticks me a lot. Msybe as lady gaga said we should have a union lol

But, I agree you are not that obsessive as you have criticized your star, but I think it irritating when others do and tht with no validity, just to annoy some.

while here bollywood celebs don't get any chance to be defended, they are all open in an order for us to play Dart dart on their faces and taking our aim 😆

i may be mad..but i actually enjoy bolly forum more than any forum on this site

True that Nitu, but then, there needs to be a balance.

Its gotten to a point where there are barely any fans of a celebrity left. I know that Smarie, Naj & I had decided to take a break a while back just because the place got so hostile for fans to enjoy.

Yes, on the flipside, why dont we join a fan forum, why are we on a general bollywood forum right? But then, we can also rivert back and say, join a hate group, why are you even on a bollywood forum, lol.

So lets just welcome both sides of the coin.

Skeptics can mock, and fans can LUUVEE, and lets debate, lets discuss, but lets not start getting personal unless ofcourse, the bias from one side overrides logic.
