ts a media made thing the three Khans. If two are doing good, the other automatically gets a mention as a superstar.

Like a couple years ago Salman was "entertaining" us with Yuvraj, God Tussi Great Ho, Veer, Mrs Khanna and a lot of similar crap.

But even the media kept repeating " The Three Khans are superstars."

Its not fair to guys like Akshay and Ajay and also Saif because he was doing better than Salman until Dabangg happened.

Also all the Khan fans are always " The Khan stardom is unmatchable. Bigger than Bachchan. Ofcourse it is. Its 3 against 1.

Lets compare the Khans against AB, Dharmendra and Rajesh Khanna.

Are they the reigning superstars. Yes. But they are not bigger than anyone and everyone in the history of Bollywood like some people would have us believe
The Khan's stardom pales in comparision to the Big 3 on top.

^..Lol I too heard about SRK having nightmares with Hrithik...But I guess that was all a media made mumbo jumbo...I mean, how and why the heck would one star have a problem with another upcoming star???Its not like SRK was planning to act in ALL the movies out there??? I am sure he is an intelligent human being and knows about his own limitations...Uff the media, I tell you!

70s are always associated with Amitabh Bachchan...does that mean there werent other actors (hit or flop) around that time who were also doing brilliant work? But if we look at 70s... some of the most memorable movies starred Bachchan... today's audience is more likely to remember a Zanjeer or Sholay...

same with the Khans and 90s/00s... sure there were other actors doing brilliant work and working in successful films .. but the most recognized films of that era (mostly) star a Khan...and they are still going strong.

And i think the reason people mention the 20 years and still going strong thing is that yes they had their share of flops but their "downs" havent lasted as many years as that of other actors. Even in the middle of crapfest.. they would have a film or two which was a hit. I hated "Mela" but it came after Sarfarosh and before Lagaan/Dil Chahta Hai ... with many other actors they were down and pretty much out for years before they reinvented themselves... 20 years of successful films and crazy fandom (at home and abroad) is no mean feat... And yes as much as i like ajay devgan or saif ali khan .. i have to admit that they dont inspire the same .. fervor (for lack of a better word) and media frenzy.

it's called a heirarchy... not every hero can be on top or be termed as a superstar... that does not mean they have no place in bollywood... evolution... at the time of dinosaurs, nobody could have thought they would become extinct... or humans could take over... ek jaata hai, dosra aata hai...

as for the movies and people behind the movies... is it not the case with ANY hero...? people really know how to take a simple thing and escalate it, eh... hota hai... khaali dimaagh shaitan ka ghar and all that, you know...! 😛

after amitabh, there have been many who came and went but never could make the same place as him... that happened only after aamir, salman and srk... does it matter...? it could have been anyone else as well... nothing would change for bollywood... ek jaata hai, pachaas us ki jagah lenay khaday ho jaate hain... it's another matter, whether they are able to make the same place or not...

and just because people say that this or that is most popular right now, that does not necessarily mean they are taking credit away from anyone else...

stardom is fickle... nobody can imagine NOW that anyone could forget the contributions of the khans... but what is happening...? how many remember the aura that dilip kumar or a raj kapoor commanded...? hardly many... and they also ruled for a good period of their life... amitabh bachan was the next one to command the same aura as them... does that mean there was nobody in between...?

as they say... the show goes on... and in this case, life goes on...!

well he said it , sometime back maybe in jest, but the media stories about how Hrithik was stealing his thunder got to him, nd he made a few rude comments, looked a bit hassled 😛 actually he gets hassled by everyone's success 😆 but now they are friends I believe😉 also Hrithik had a crappy year with Kites & Guzaarish, so he doesn't feel intimated anymore 😆

I feel for SRK man. Evertime an old or new hero becomes popular, media has a field day comparing him with SRK and then plant stories of him having nightmares.

First when AB became popular after KBC/Mohabbatein, then when Hrithik got KNPH, then when Sunny got Gadar, then when Shahid got Ishq Vishq (he copied SRK from looks to acting) ... needless to say everytime Salman's or Aamir's or Akshay's movie is declared a hit, again SRK has to feel the brunt.

The guy has been working for almost 20 years and is self-made totally .. why to start the comparison again and again. And that too without any proof. When (and if) his stardom ever loses its charm then lets start the comparison and see his downwards journey. But without him losing anything, media just starts the imaginative and creative stories. Well they have to fill those 24 hrs of sensational news. Idiots.
