day 19 - a film of your favorite actress
Bombay

Indian actress wise its a tossup between Manisha, Vidya and Juhi. But to keep it simple i'll say Manisha Koirala. She has amazing screen presence and floored me when i watched this film. I love this movie and more often than not have loved most of her performances. She has a charm and beauty i don't see in any actress and is extremley versatile. I still remember that scene with her and Arvind Swami on the staircase when she looks down and he looks up, god what a perfect film!

day 10 - a film that makes you fall asleep : Devdas, National Treasure

Day 15 - a film that describes you :

The main protagonist in Swades...I could identify with him in so many levels...

The dilemma... the confusion... the guilt... the nostalgia ... I have gone through it so many times...

Each time I visit India and I come back here, I leave a part of me back there...Sigh...

Regarding the performances it is one of SRK's best performances till date ... He was very convincing in the role he played...

This particular song... Each time I hear it, it gives me goosebumps...

@Maddy: so true at Swades.. only wish the movie was shorter by at least 30 minutes ( I feel the same about every movie in any case).

The start of the song, esp.. where he blinks his eyes and the scenes flash before his eyes, beautifully synced and that gives me goosebumps as well.

Drag it definitely was... A crisper version would have worked better... Ashutosh and short length dont go hand in hand... 😆

But the core story and the intention behind it was good... It was very inspiring...

It was loosely inspired by an NRI couple who returned to India and some inspiration was taken from a Kannada movie which was in turn inspired from a Kannada novel written by a noted writer Shivram Karanth...

I didn't know it was inspired from a true story. There are so many times I wish I could do something like that, but don't , simply from inertia or lack of direction. But those who do walk the talk, I am enthused to read about.

It was a well presented movie. I wish it was a little less preachy in parts. And I was happy that the actor was out of his normal comfort zone. He looked the part and played it quite well.
