One more point that I wanted to add is that in Oscars, people are genuinely surprised and touched when they get an award, no one has any clue on whose going to win.
Here, people show no emotions, coz every show is rigged, they come to the show demanding that they be given an award , the organisers too want to make sure big stars attend the show hence give them an award whether they deserve it or not. No wonder, they didnt give an award to Naseer for wednesday
Very well said! I totally agree!
In the last decade or so, all Indian awards shows have just gone from bad to worse. I remember there was a time when I was a kid when we WERE excited about the filmfares airing around New Year's eve.....there was a sense of anticipation.....the ppl actually looked like they CARED about getting the awards, that the awards MEANT something to them.....now they are just random song/dance routines (usually choreographed with tacky repetitive moves), random gay jokes and bored looking actors sitting there ho humming through the proceedings....how are the audiences then supposed to connect to this and enjoy it???? :S
I wouldn't say the Oscars or Golden Globes are perfect either....but when it comes to dignity and a classy treatment of things, they are obviously miles ahead. It is not necessary to completely forgo dignity in order to provide masala entertainment.
