I wish more people in India would watch the oscars and see the world difference. Then they would realize their is a better way to have an award show.

I agree with you'll, Firstly since indians compare Filmfare to an equivalent off the oscars must be really seriously joking,
India has a long way to go before there can actually call themselves in par with the oscars, maybe the BAFTAs but not filmfare.
I was just checking all the pictures off this years filmfare, and it was like crazy i mean the arrivals, celebs with their cars and all the fans around the cars and the drivers waiting for the fans to move out off there way, and photographers, and the road most off peoplehad sand on their shoes.
And what is worst the way the presenter comes out from the back with the evelope and throphy, sometimes there will have so aunty that we don/t know or some big ceo, or sometimes 2 people willcome out one walking in front and one behind duhhhhhhhhh.
wheras in the oscars there get droped off at a distance by theri drivers and then walk the whole red carpet and do the interviews.
And i have been watching the oscars for 3 years know and golden globes this year because SRK was hosting, but the nominated actors are geniuly happy for the person that wins, if you'll see kate winslet winnin her first oscar after 7 nominations, i think she shou;ld have won a long time ago, everyone was so happy.
Igues the only indian awards i think is nice is the IFAA's that to which is not in India

Oh so awards shows are about ratings? I thought it was about the recognition of the work done by the movie industry. Go figure hmmm....Ratings is no assessment on importance. An American Idol episode got higher ratings than the inauguration of the 44th U.S. president, but does that mean American Idol is more important? Oh, I sure hope to god not😆

Oscars are sooo classsy. I loved every bit of oscars esp Hugh jackman hostin. He is soooooo damm sexy n witty☺️. I loved they wat they introduced the nominees. The best part that i loved is how they intorduced the screenplay awards by tellin the scene as to how a screenplay is written or the costume award where the actual drawing of the costume is shown. I loved every bit of the oscars and i feel it is better than any other award function in the world.👏

The whole business of entertainment Bollywood and Hollywood is about ratings, boxoffice, trps, who can sell stuff. Politcs is about serving the country and in a way politics is also about (votes) which again is related to majority of people.
These movie stars are nothing without people who pay to watch them. If stars stop caring about trps boxoffice and fan following then they wont exsist.
So yes ratings are important ... btw oscars use to be so boring before and because of the low trps they have also changed the oscar management so that popularity of oscars remains the great and trps increase.
But even I agree with the fact that the grace and humbleness of the stars in oscars is unmatched. The way the embraced SM is totally amazing.

I am confused by your argument here. How can you watch movie award show and not be interested in the movies? Isn't that what the award show celebrating, the movies??? Most foreign award shows tend to be more entertaining than the indian awards, where all the guests are constantly yawning and definitely not paying attention to any of it.

Its the english films i am talking about thats why i do not watch them..where has indian movies i know so i tend to watch the awards hope thats abit more clearer

there are so many things wrong and crass about indian award shows.. some of them include

- Some men look like total hobos, who don't bother dressing appropriately.. they look sweaty and homeless

- quite a few people keep chewing GUM.. not just in the audience but on stage.. and some WHILE GIVING THEIR SPEECH.. gross.. you don't chew with your mouth open either.. they need to attend basic etiquette classes

- some people wear shades indoors.. who does that? its an award show.. not a place to show off your brand new Prada sunnies.. GOSH

- presenters come on stage and they either look confused or hog the mic and their co presenters just stand there...

- the hosts make juvenile recycled jokes.. how many times will they do kantaben/gay jokes?

- hosts (so called stars) use the stage to unleash their personal vendetta against their competitors and then make a cliched comment saying "hey its just a joke.. get a sense of humor".. umm maybe they do have a sense of humor that is why they don't find your lame jokes funny? how about that smarty pants?

- performances, lately they all look the same.. actresses just wear something gaudy and bright and outrageous like straight out of some Vegas show.. barely move their behinds and then have the backup dancers lift them all around the stage.. and the same performers perform in every single award show and on the same song..YUCK..

- and actors wear really shiny tight pants.. like they are male strippers or something showing off their cleavage... and do the same repetitive dance moves.. they all try to copy Hrithik, well guess what Hrithik can actually dance you guys can't, please don't try...

- technical winners get treated like 2nd/3rd class citizens.. give them the award and then shoo them off the stage...

- presenters trying to hog the limelight.. specially those B/C list actors who don't have a movie to shoot so they go to every single award shows and end up presenting awards and before they do that they go "Hello mumbai/dubai/bangcock/blah blah, its my honor to present an award.. this is my favorite city.." blah blah blah, like they know they will never win an award to give an acceptance speech so they compensate with that...

- the awards themselves.. best actor award is usually the last award.. like srsly what the??? shouldn't best movie be the last one?

- oh and the unclassy and cheap way they edit the shows, showing the same laughing, angry, sad clips of the audience over and over again.. just to insinuate gossip and controversies.. like when an actor wins something or performs or does anything, they show random clips of their exes in the audience which could have taken some other time..

- well i could go on and on..

👏omg i totally agree with you...i dont understand why the best actor award is last

i really like how the oscars mix up the awards...if you guys saw the oscars this year, they started with the best supporting actress and not the technical awards in order to make sure that all the award categories get the same amount of imprtance

also everyone is genuinly happy when they get an Oscar..so many people get emotional...i havent seen someone crying at any indian awards show ever...

And finally look at the stage of the Oscars...its was amazing and kept on changing and its not tacky like the indian shows...i loved the oscars this year

Just my opinion😊

Now that SRK, Karan Johar, Anil Kapoor, Irfan Khan, AR Rehman etc, have attended the Golden Globes and / or the Academy Awards they should provide some constructive feedback to the organizers of the Indian Award Ceremonies. That is whisful thinking though. I can bet that not one thing will change in the format of the Bollywood Award Functions. They will continue with the same ol crap at The Stardust Awards, The Screen Awards, The Z Awards, The Filmfare Awards, The IFFA Awards and any other awards I might have missed mentioning.
I also hope that going forward Sajid Khan is totally banned from hosting anything. In fact he should be run out of town.
