yeah, i feel like the only people who actually care are the newcomers who have no godfather in the industry. And they rarely get and award.

The Oscars are the best! Each year outdoes the previous one! The hosts are funny, and people this year's was extremely sexy and very entertaining! I loved the Oscars even though it was a musical theme this year! I also like the anticipation and how all the nominees come! I expected Filmfare to be top notch, but it isn't! There's no aniticpation and the dancing is overrated! I think amitabh bachchan is well-respected and should be! I so agree, everything is tacky. I remember there was a time when celebs used to wear jeans at award shows, I'm glad that's not happening! But things need to get better and much more entertaining!

I totally agree with you....I watched the Academy Awards the other day...and it was my first time(just because Slumdog was nominated) but I was blown away by how much class, grace and style everything was handled👏👏...even the red carpet was fabulous..and I just loved the gowns the ladies wore..lol😉😛...but I loved Hugh as hosting and the way EVERY nominee and winner was given the chance to give a speech....and on a side note I loved how the best actor, actress, supporting actor/actress nominees were announced...just amazing..I officially love the Oscars now..lol

i agree
filmfare used to be so prestigeous and well known, but in last decade everything changed, especially caz the awards started going to the same people over and over. Oscars are way too prestigeous, nominees are given so much respect. And everyone just seem genuinely happy for the winners!

im not trying to do comparison but seriously its like free food lets go not ohh this award how prestigious
and all the rivalry in bwood isnt going to help while showing appreciation

I watched the Oscars for the first time recently, i watched the end. I agree, they are really classy and sophisticated. But i feel that Indian awards are more entertaining. Actors come and dance and do their thing...its fun for us watching it. I cant really say much as i havent watched all of the Oscars though.

I am sorry but i beg to differ. I think Indian awards are totally Bindaas. Oscars are so boring their trps are so bad, which indicates that hardly anyone watches them in their native country US. On the other hand Indian awards are hugely popular. Our stars put so much effort in these awards they actually dance, sing and entertain..whereas in oscars hollywood stars just sit there like trophys they dont put any effor to entertain their fans. And our hosts in awards are so funny. Specailly saif and srk.. they even make fun of themselves but are very funny.. and even sajid khan is not tat bad. Last year in Ifa booman irani and ritesh were also fantastic.
I love indian awards they dont follow western awards blindy and try to be themselves. And btw even in western award shows people are made fun of. In golden globes sasha baran co.. guy made fun of madonnas hubby and called him her backup dancer. They make fun of britney angelina and everyone else..
Western society openly spoofs their popular people and laughs at themselves look at tonight show.. letterman..
