New Delhi: The buzz of how the Badshah Shah Rukh is replacing the Shahenshah Amitabh is old hat. There's someone else who is stepping into Shahrukh Khan's shoes and suitably so!

Bollywood actor Salman Khan has been signed as the new face of Mayur Suitings. As made his entry on the stage as the new ambassador of Mayur, the beat of a few popular Bollywood numbers were playing in the backdrop.

The actor was at his funniest best with some punchy one-liners. Sample this, on being asked whether the brand will rock with this new ambassador, Salman said, "The last three films that I rocked, I hope I don't rock Mayur like that."

And does Mayur Salman Khan sounds better than Shahrukh Mayur Khan? "I dont know about sounding better, but I am sure it looks better."

But why is the actor seen endorsing baniyans more than clothing apparel? "Me as an actor, I really don't wear many many clothes, it's not like I don't like clothes, but just that I am uncomfortable."

So, with this suitings endorsement in hand, hope we'll be seeing less of the topless Salman Kham, we're so used to.

"Have you ever heard an actor say - I hate my co-star?" - Salman Khan

When Salman Khan is in mood to give quotable quotes, there is no one better than him. This is why his interviews make for a great copy and are loved by the readers all over.

In one such quirky mood, he was simply holds-no-bar in a recent interview. On being told that his co-stars like Preity Zinta and Rani Mukherjee couldn't stop raving about him, he said he would believe so if the ladies said the same on candid camera.

His logic was that stars are required to promote a film and they'll obviously say pleasant things about their co-stars. He also questioned if any actor would say, "I hate my co-star. He's an idiot"? Nevertheless, he concluded that even he was fond of Preity and Rani and the feeling was mutual.

Getting nostalgic, he also shared a hitherto unknown fact about his younger days. Apparently he along with Chunkey Pandey and Sajid Khan attended Daisy Irani's acting school for a month but the lady had to shut down the school after some time.

Reason? On the first day, the trio were given a two page long speech from 'Pyaasa' which none of them could ever get right. That too even after seeing the film about 10 times. Later she did complain that "Tum logon ka kya hoga, meri acting school bandh karwah doge."

Salman has a heart of gold!

We all know Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has a heart of gold. And he proved it again. Recently we came to know the actor has donated Rs. 4.5 lakh for the treatment of a seven-year-old child, Saugat Kunwar, who's suffering from cancer. Though Salman has made the donation two months back, but he didn't publicize it. Because Salman hasn't done that for publicity; he always does things what his heart asks him to do. As per reports, Saugat is from Nepal . And Saugat's parents contacted Salman Khan through his father Salim Khan. And Salman, on hearing Saugat's parents are in desperate need for money to treat their cancer-stricken boy, didn't think twice to donate the amount.

Even though people say say "Salmanz bad" "He goes to Jail" "Bad boy" or anything like that he proves them all wrong by doing something magical. He's such a sweetheart. A very Sweet Heart

Salman Khan and his secret gestures

Many celebrities do good deeds with their hard earned money but it is not always with so abruptly left shooting to attend the Annual Day celebrations of Children Welfare Centre High School and Clara's College of Commerce. As media was also called there Sallubhai went for the function 90 minutes earlier, met the child and left the place before media could find out. But then the principal Ajay Kaul couldn't hide the star's big gesture and told media about it. "We had invited Salman because we wanted to thank him. It was my much secrecy as Salman Khan does it. Salman Khan is dedicated to help cancer patients. Salman Khan, along with his entire family, had attended a programme organised by the Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA) for 250 terminally ill patients. The actor donated Rs 13 lakh for the cause. And recently he donated Rs 4.5 lakh for the treatment of a seven-year old child suffering from cancer called Saugat Kunwar. On Saturday Salman first meeting with him and he is a nice person. Without seeing or knowing the child, he shelled out such a big amount. He genuinely cares for the less fortunate" said Mr Kaul. They star has also been doing great charity work through Make a Wish organization. Sallu Bhai yeh to kamal kar diya aapne!

Salman gives away sunglasses

Salman has always been a hot favorite on the ramp and this time he heated up the Nizam's land, Hyderabad, with his ramp walk for a local eyewear brand. And as it was Salman, the crowd was as such enormous and Sallu's act of distributing sunglasses made the crowd go crazy to touch the star. Of course the security was right in place to protect the actor. The function ended with Salman unleashing his calendar 2007 with his exclusive moods printed with each month of the year. Salman sure makes it sure to turn any drab situation into a memorable one for his fans!

Biggies at their best in 2007

2007 will see Amitabh Bachchan, Salman, Abhishek and Aishwarya competing with each other.

Eklavya, Guru, Salaam-e-Ishq and Provoked are going to open the New Year and no one needs to be told that it is going to be one tough competition on the Box Office. While Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai would be pairing up in the first biggie of the year, GURU, Amitabh Bachchan would be seen in first EKLAVYA - THE ROYAL GUARD [February 16] and then (probably) NISHABD [February 23]. There are also chances of Ash's PROVOKED getting released on the same day as NISHABD. And Salman Khan sees his film's release right between these flicks on January 25th.

ShahRukh Khan trying to stub Jaaneman !!!

We all know that King Khan is getting more spoilt by the day and with the rising levels of his insecurity, is trying to stub anyone and everyone who comes his way … and after Abhishekh Bachchan, it's the producers of 'Jaanemann'.

He's been quite upset since the release of his forthcoming film DON was announced to coincide with the release of the Salman Khan & Akshay Kumar starrer… and he's just taken the Khan rivalry a step further…

ShahRukh Khan announced the release bash of the book 'SRK – Still Reading Khan' on the same day as the 'Jaanemann' pre-release bash – 11th October! Though the writer of the book, Mustak Sheikh, confirmed that the date was chosen ONLY due to unavailability of a 5 star hotel on any other day for the year, the rest of the industry thinks otherwise …
