Sallu's idol mind

Salman Khan waited for three hours on the sets of Farah Khan's Om Shanti Om, so that he could match steps with his idol, Dharmendra

Imagine Salman Khan jumping with joy at the sight of Dharamendra stepping out of his car. Well, this what the unpredictable actor did recently at Film City where he was filming for the title track of Farah Khan's Om Shanti Om (OMS). Salman, who shook a leg with Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Sanjay Dutt, waited for over three hours so that he could share a frame with Dharmendra.

Sources say that Dharamendra was scheduled to make a solo appearance but Khan pestered Farah to have him dance with the veteran actor. Farah Khan says, "Salman was done by 6 pm. As soon as he got to know that Dharamendra was expected on the sets, he stayed back and waited for over three hours for him."

Apparently, Salman is extremely fond of the veteran actor and worshipped him during his growing years. He chatted with Dharmendra and even imitated his trademark step. Later even Saif joined the duo on the floor while the shot was being canned. An eyewitness says, "We didn't know that Salman is so fond of Dharmendra. They were having so much of fun. You had to see them dancing."

However, roping in Dharmendra wasn't an easy task. Farah could convince the actor only after two long meetings. A source says, "Dharamendra wasn't too keen, initially. But Farah was hell-bent on having him in her film as he is a legend. After much cajoling, he agreed."

Even Shah Rukh is known to have made few frantic calls to his friends in the industry when Farah wanted to have a star-studded (quite literally) title song for the film. Another source close to SRK adds, "Shah Rukh, Salman and Saif are a camp in the making. They bond well and are ready to help out each other."

Silly Billy Sallugiri

I am an ullu: Sallu
Two ladies at the gym yesterday, were of all things, gossiping about Salman Khan.

One said to the other, "I felt sorry for him yaar, did you see him on the last episode of KBC? I think he was joking because he didn't want to show his hurt at Ash's marriage."

We do not know about that profound theory. But, Salman Khan displayed that asinine humour which makes him such a hit with the ceetee bajao crowd.

We also wonder whether Salman's strange accent has been inspired by Katrina Kaif's accented English.

The funniest part though, came when Salman was asked a question about the starter 'Sushi' and he asked, "Is it a short form for Sushmita Sen?"
Sallu was acting like always, an Ullu.

Best friend...

It was as if SALMAN came home visiting

TEARFUL BYE: Shah Rukh discovers onions in his pockets as he searches for a handkerchief to wipe away the tears on the concluding episode of KBC 3 on Thursday
THE last episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati, featuring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, was a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Salman came up with some really funny one-liners and his ability to respond to questions with smart quotes was commendable.

Watching Salman dance and hear him mimicry, the atmosphere was as if he was at our home.

Like Shah Rukh said at the opening of the show, Salman is a down-to-earth person, who has been much misquoted and misunderstood.

Shaista Pathan

YOU came like a gush of wind,
Here one second, gone the other.
Who could have done better than you,
There's certainly not another.

YOU are one among the celebrities,
We know you as a star.
But it was only through KBC
We saw the great person that you are!

AN ideal character for the show,
So cheerful all the time.
You made every contestant comfortable,
You were linguistic, sweet and fine.

A STRANGER you were to us before,
Soon you became our best friend.
Now that the show is over,
Our broken hearts none can mend.

Good luck, God Bless and a ''muah'' to you, sir!

FUN PAIRS: Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif with Shah Rukh Khan and (below) Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor on the final episode of KBC 3

IT WAS a treat to watch Salman and Katrina together on KBC. God bless them. We will miss Shah Rukh Khan and his kisses

Suchita

THE concluding episode of KBC with Salman and Katrina was damn good. Salman really rocked even if Katrina was thanda. Hoping for some shaadi news

Salman cannot go bald now!

The personal work Salman Khan went for to Dubai was not to keep current girlfriend Katrina Kaif company but his long overdue session of hair weaving that needed to be done following his hair transplant procedure last year!

Salman left for Dubai last week to start the second phase of the hair transplant procedure. Certain steps are taken before and after a the procedure to ensure maximum growth.

Once the first step is over, hair grows naturally and continues to thicken for six to nine months. Hair loss after that will probably occur in untreated areas and one can either use medication to retard the loss or schedule a hair weaving.

Salman underwent hair weaving in Dubai with an American surgeon. Khan returned to Mumbai yesterday, after spending some time under observation in Dubai.
