Performing rituals like Pooja of other religion is called Shirk..We pray to Allah and Bow down to Allah..! Though we are allowed to participate in their festivals like We can make Devali or play Holi , only if we want but not perform rituals which is called Shirk..!

Didn't Gauhar participate in Puja - if that's the case she will be top on my hate list.
I hate people who are stuck in beliefs.
Sorry, but you need to come out of all those fake beliefs if you want to make this world a better place.
As a Hindu, I believe my faith in my religion is so strong that it won't be affected if I participate in any other religion's festivity. I would be more than happy to be a part of it.

In Islam, we are taught to respect all the PEOPLE who are from different religions and NOT FORCE them to follow Islam by any means.
Our Prophet (SM) always respected and loved people from other beliefs.
Enjoying in other religious events is NOT disrespecting Islam. But performing other religion's rituals are Shirk according to Islam.

Good to see a nice post from you...
Taking part in other prayers is an offence/sin right??
Even if it was, it was some 700-800 years back right??But now does that hold any logic...
Religion is your personal belief..its how you practise it right?? For you participating might be a big sin then tell me how can thousands of Bangladeshi Muslims take part in Durga Puja are they betraying their religion..they dont think they do so..its much like to each his own...you can not speak for others even if you are following the same religion...
And every thing in religion has some logic...tell me how can praying to God of whatever belief harm your religion???😕 Or your faith???
God did not step down to say all this..its what humans have created so ITS A PERSONAL BELIEF...!!!

I'm sad to see people judging her for not performing the ritual, when she respected it by dressing in the proper attire but just didn't take part in the actual ceremony. According to this thinking then everyone in the house should read namaz with her on Eid on Wednesday! Celebrating a festival is one thing but actually doing a religious activity is a different thing.

Word!

And to say that participating in other religions festivals is considered shrik is really disappointing when it is being talked in a context of a country like India, which is a home of religions, as secular and liberal as it is. I have seen many muslims participating in Ganesh chaturthi, and the same goes for hindus at Eid. Such rules might look plausible in Arab countries where are still many restrictions imposed on people in the name of religion. Taking part in festivals such as durga puja shouldn't be considered "dharmbhrast", at the end of the day, every religion is equal and God is one. These barriers are very much created by humans.

Although at the end of the day, its a person's personal call to attend a puja or not but putting restrictions is disappointing.

the clip that was shown Gauhar standing on one side implies she respects their faith by dressing up even if she is a non-believer.. dis is my take on it... and we should respect it and not create a debate about it.. i really dont get y der is so much chaos between the differences and y is der a strong urge to prove my religion is better then urs.. d bottom line is all religion teaches 3 basic thing love compassion humanity 😊

I never brought my religion is better than yours topic..its sad to see how members perceive I m anti ISLAM and all...
If someone questions some invalid practice of my religion I will support that much like widows should wear white only and eat veg and Only Brahmans are allowed to do upanayana..I decry all such practices..!!!
Gauhar participates or not, its her decision, her mentality...no need to bring RELIGION into it...
I dont care about the differences but staying in a modern world there is an excessive urge to connect everything regressive with religion...Your religion will never say all these things..a certain section of society however might include it!!

Muslims follow the instructions that is written in Holy Quran which we believe a lifestyle for us decided by Allah. So the time period doesn't really matter here!
Many Muslims from BD do participate in Durga Puja but how many of them perform the rituals?
I have gone to Pooja mandap, had sweets, have seen the rituals! But not once I participated in the ritual i.e. pray to Durga's idol.
That's what I said, participating is not prohibited but praying to idols/or performing rituals are!
