Khushi, all the three posts you put, I can't help but agree with all of them You have written and explained the theories you have had to offer beautiful and going by the history of the show to the current episode, everything seems to hit on the right nail. 👏 I don't know how MPD or DID works in real life cases and how accurately its being shown in this show if it is indeed MPD/DID that Maya is suffering from.
Ty Husna 😳Exactly my point...MPD manifests in different forms...frankly, though I have read in novels n articles, I've never seen a film or show on MPD...If it's MPD, I wonder what name they've chosen for Maaya 2. ..Usually the alter has a name with the same initials ie MM here..But definitely a different name...Having said that, from what I have understood how Maya's character, she definitely has mental health issues, no denying that, probably a condition/illness in its gravest and critical stage but the episodes and everything Maya says or does or shows through her demeanour, I can't help but think that this is not the case where Maya 1 and Maya 2 are unaware of each other's existence. I think Maya 1 and Maya 2 are intricately intertwined together, blended into one entity, in a state where one can't tell Maya 1 and Maya 2 apart because they aren't actually two separate entities but just one.I think Maaya 2 is aware of Maaya 1 but not vice versa, as usually is the case...Else, y would Jhanvi tell Maya on the phone before her accident, that today I want to show you the murderer's true face...But then, MPD is about 2 separate entities in one single body na. ..This is who Maya is, this what Maya does. There is light and darkness in each one of us and in that way, Maya's darkness has a greater power, control and authority over the light in her. So much and so that Maya 2 comes across as the best and accurate version of Maya Mehrotra. If I were to put it in ratio, Maya Mehrotra is 80% made of Maya 2 and 20% of Maya 1. Given at the rate she's going on about her mission of isolating Arjun to have him to herself alone (and not caring about the repercussions or the consequences, the ways or methods she uses to achieve her means, breaking moral, ethical or legal codes etc), very soon that 20% of Maya 1 will cease to exist.I think, at the moment Maaya 1 is very broken, due to the 3 triggers I have mentioned in my main post...Maaya 2 gets her strength when Maaya 1 is broken...Maaya 1 cannot cease to exist...Coz that day, Arjun will die a brutal death at the hands of Maaya 2...As I had said earlier, I expect Saanjh to reawaken Maaya 1 later when Maaya 2 will try to win her internal tussle with Maaya 1 n over power her...I also expect Vandana to step in n accept Maaya 1 at this point, which will give her the final strength to overpower Maaya 2 ...From where I see it, she's treading incredibly fast on a path from where there's no point of return and no scope of redemption. Speaking from story perspective, I love Maya's character and I have always said this is her story. Like any other individual and more so being a victim of abuse and traumatic past, she deserves all the love, happiness and peace (not to forget medical treatment) but not at the cost of ruining everyone's lives around her and especially not before she's paid the price of her deeds, not before she's repented for every wrong deed, not before she's redeemed herself. Until then, I'm game for watching a Maya who continues to wreak havoc, bring upon doom and cause destruction. Because? That is what I always thought Maya would be and that is only what Maya knows to do until there comes a stage where 'jaisi karni waisi bharni' is set into motion.
Totally totally agree , Husna...Maya is now on the path of zero redemption...I most definitely see Saajun as the endgame(it was always meant to be that way) ...Even if Maaya heals, I don't know how the laws would apply on the murders piling up against her name...PS I also loved the posts by sweetshruthi, caputdraconis and aekiel in this thread.I did, too...😃
Awesome Khushi 👏
I might slightly differ with you on this Maaya 1 and Maaya 2 take. For me Maaya 2 is the glimpse of the 9-year old girl who was born in that underground cellar when Ashwin locked her up in the dark. To my mind I have clearly seen Maaya 2 on two occasions - one when Arjun barges into her room and scolds her for keeping Saanjh waiting. At that time Maaya would have bought a watch for Arjun, and it falls off the table when Arjun scolds her. She sees the fallen gift when you get to see a glimpse of Maaya 2, the 9-year old. Another instance was in front of Jhanvi when she tells Maaya to go and tell the truth to Arjun, and out of the blue you see this 9-year old Maaya who comes out of the blue and threatens Jhanvi. Maaya 2 arises out of the emotional hurt caused to Maaya 1. Maaya 2 is the real Maaya's cocoon. And probably the one who broke Ashwin's leg.For me Maaya 1 is not just the one who is behaving like a good bahu, but it is the Maaya who is the ruthless, manipulative owner of Fashion in the City magazine. Maaya 1 is a scarred personality. Maaya 1 is no saint. She is a by-product of her childhood trauma. Children's minds are like clay. The impact of our actions mould their clay-like brains and becomes part of their personality. The real Maaya or Maaya 1 has always struggled with people. But by making herself ruthless in the workplace, she ensured that she doesn't have to deal with human emotions which otherwise a good manager would try to. But where ruthlessness wouldn't work, like with Arjun or Vandana, she is intelligent enough to resort to other means. She doesn't understand that you can be genuinely good and be happy. And I can't blame her either for being unable to understand genuine goodness - she hasn't been acquainted with it in her childhood. But I pity her and sympathise with her. No one deserves a scarred childhood like hers neither does one deserve to be so broken that one's moral compass itself is damaged beyond repair. I already see her as a tragic heroine.

You know what, Shreya...You are absolutely right!! 👏Whatever pieces were not falling in place for me, you've put them all in the right places...👍🏼I agree, Maaya 1 is not saintly...She's scarred, manipulative n ruthless...That's Maya Mehrotra for u...But I think she made a genuine effort as Maaya Arjun Sharma to be accepted for being what she was...Everyone, except Vandana almost accepted her...(not that if Vandana had accepted her, Maaya 2 wouldn't have surfaced)@ bold : awesome! Simply awesome!!👏

I beg to differ here slightly. Whether or not Vandana had accepted her, Maya 2 would have resurfaced sooner or later. It's a part of Maya that cannot be done away with love or marriage. It needs gradual healing and doesn't cease to exist overnight or a period of nights.

Husna my friend, I have also said that only...😃...We are on the same page, dear😃not that if Vandana had accepted her, Maaya 2 wouldn't have surfaced= Maaya 2 would have resurfaced sooner or later.
