Maaya after marriage turned Gopi Vahu ...And suddenly everybody began to tire of the show...As this was NOT we had invested for...Maaya Mehrotra made a 360 degree U turn as soon as she became Maaya Arjun Sharma characterwise

All audiences were baffled...😕

Those who thought Maaya is the killer

...& Those who thought Maaya isn't

...& Rightly so...😃

As I have said in my other post it's about Maaya's MPD/DID

Maaya 1 's true nature is that of Gopi Vahu...Meek, submissive, docile, helpless, falling at her mil's feet for acceptance, turning to her Bhagwaanji for help for everything...She truly wants to be the ideal wife, bahu & Bhabhi n complete the Sharma family...

Maaya 1 just wanted to be happy...Ashwin tried to kill Arjun, n thru Vandana, tried to stop the wedding...

Maaya 2, who was born due to intense trauma to Maaya in childhood, (on her 9th birthday, at the godown where Ashwin tortured her) has only 1 aim...& That is to ensure Maaya 1's happiness...Which she thinks is a happy married life with Arjun, who Maaya truly loves...Beyhadh...Hadh SE zyaada...

Now, I've been rewatching post marriage episodes lately...

Feb 10 Mahaepi : there is a clear cut scene of Maya 1 (when Maaya was locked in her room) sobbing in front of god, that woh aadmi mujhe Kabhi Khush nahi rehne dega n Maya 2 looking up n firmly saying that this time, she wouldn't lose.

Then just before the wedding, Maya2 says, "Maine darr ke har saaye ko Hara Diya hai". - which translates into "Ashwin dead"

We also saw Maya 2 complete her pheras amidst the blazing fire.

Immediately after marriage, we see Maaya 1 begging the inspector n Saanjh to help Arjun, she recollects the Mauritius pundit's gloomy prediction about her dark saaya...

Outside the police station, Maaya 1 actually wanted to leave Arjun for his own safety, but Arjun convinces her otherwise.

After Ashwin's chautha, Maaya sees Ashwin's saaya in his picture frame- this is suggestive of her continued fear of Ashwin even AFTER Ashwin's death.

Before bidaai, Maaya thanks God for Arjun, for Ashwin's death, & prrays for her & Arjun's happiness

This NEW MAAYA is actually Maaya 1, who was otherwise predominantly dormant. But now, Maaya 2 has taken a backseat, as Ashwin is dead, n she thinks Maaya can now be happy with Arjun.

So, MAAYA ARJUN SHARMA (who is Maaya 1,) takes BIDAAI from her home.

1) She enters her new home to Vandana's rants about Maaya's lineage, apshaguns, etc

2)she runs away n cries in front of god in the garden n wonders if she's really bad for Arjun, but Arjun pacifies her.

3)when they return home, her foot gets hurt n bleeds, n Vandanataunts her with bad omens, etc Maaya is heartbroken.

4) Maaya seeks Saanjh's friendship. Saanjh n Ayaan can see Maaya's genuine efforts, but NOT Vandana, who only see's her child's impending gloom.

5)That night, Vandana dreams of Maaya killing her, n later, Maaya fallis at Vandana's feet for acceptance.

6) Naaya continues her attempts at being the ideal housewife n GENUINELY attempts to be the 4th member of the SHARMA family. She prays to God for her family's happiness.

7) Jhanvi calls Maaya to tell her that Ashwin has returned. After pacifying J, A n M are romancing, when they bump against Ashwin's picture, n Maaya gets scared. Immediately, she goes to the bathroom, n out of fear, hallucinates Ashwin's voice n is panic stricken, when Arjun calms her down.

8)Saanjh calls them home n there is the most beautiful scene of the show so far- the cake cutting scene between Arjun, Maaya, Saanjh & Ayaan...It brings tears to Maaya's eyes, as she has never experienced such family moments in her troubled life so far -( I WANTED TO HUG MAAYA TIGHTLY THEN 😭 )

S & A gift M & A a Swiss honeymoon package which makes Maaya very happy.

Vandana is upset - (RIGHTLY SO) but S & A object (RIGHTLY SO)

Maaya wants Vandana's blessings before leaving, n Arjun ensures that they get it.(This is symbolic that Maaya may heal in the end - Amen)

9) Maaya & Arjun are about to leave for their HM, when the inspector arrives saying that they can't leave, & asks for their passports, saying that there are 3 suspects in Ashwin murder case- J, M, A - THIS IS THE POINT WHERE MAAYA 2 EMERGES

1)Vandana's non acceptance & constant taunts about Maaya being a bad omen

2)Ashwin's fear in Maaya's mind even after his death

3) Ashwin murder case being investigated again n Arjun being a suspect

1)Maaya 2 warns the inspector of "aane Wala toofan"

2)during interrogation, she says she was not scared of Ashwin, she hated him (Maaya 1 is scared of Ashwin, Maaya 2 hates him)

From here onwards, I think Maaya 2 has taken charge...I think it's Maaya 2 responsible for Jhanvi's accident...As Jhanvi attacked Arjun during one of her panic attacks, n she thinks Arjun is the murderer.

Maaya 2 has become dangerous....Very dangerous....If she can harm Jhanvi, she can harm anyone...Whoever comes in the way of Maaya1's happiness.

She told Arjun yesterday: "Jab tak pyaar rahega, zeher nahi doongi...Aur jab zeher doongi, tab pyaar nahi rahega

She told Jhanvi that she's constantly watching her...

She told Arjun, " Kapde Meri Marzi me, Khana Meri Marzi ka, pyaar bhi Meri Marzi se...Marzi Meri hogi, par raaj tum karoge...

Maaya ka pyaar tumhein zameen par hi jannat dikhayega (- she does NOT say "Mera" pyaar...She says "Maaya" ka pyaar... ie Marzi Maaya 2 ki, pyaar Maaya 1 ka)

Maaya 1 is praying to God for Arjun n his family's happiness...Saanjh is watching on, n appreciated the inherent goodness in Maaya (though I wonder when she will recollect her scary dinner date with Maaya in the beginning- that was clearly Maaya 2)

Vandana comes n taunts Maaya (1)

- one has to appreciate the fact that Vandana doesn't know that Maaya has MPD. But she has seen both Maaya 1 & Maaya 2...(Maaya 2 had broken the glass in her hand, Maaya 2 completed the pheras amidst the blazing fire )...

From Vandana's pov:

1) Maaya (2) is very weird, scary n capable of manipulating people

2) Maaya (2) wants to control Arjun completely, n it will eventually suffocate Arjun

3) Maaya(1) attitude appears a farce n a drama & hence, very dangerous.

4) when Maaya (1) was the ideal bahu post marriage, (which was genuine) it appeared as a calculated game by Maaya(2) to Vandana who was PETRIFIED for her son Arjun

5)the weird circumstances of the marriage, Ashwin's disclosure to Vandana, the bad omens, the pundit's forecast all added together to make Vandana fear for her beloved Arjun's life

I believe there was a tussle at the temple between Maaya 1 & Maaya 2...It was Maaya 1 right throughout in the beginning, till the point Vandana accidently hits Maaya when Maaya refuses to leave her hand...

I thought it was Maaya 2 who picked up the tool to hit Vandana, but soon Maaya 1 resurfaced, who, instead of hitting, handed the tool to Vandana asking her to kill Maaya,

"Maar dijiye mujhe...ek Baar ka saara gussa KHATAM karenge dijiye...Main musibat ki jad Hoon...main KHATAM toh musibat khatam...Aap mujhe Arjun ke Saath dekh nahi sakti aur main Arjun ko chhod nahi sakti...Ek Baar main maar dijiye mujhe...KHATAM kar dijiye mujhe

Arjun Meri jaan Hai...Yaa toh aap Meri jaan le lijiye, ya Mujhe Meri jaan de dijiye."...& Tries to make Vandana hit her with the tool.

Vandana shrugs off the tool, n sarcastically tells Maaya, "ho gaya KHATAM?...tumhara drama ho gaya KHATAM? Ya Abhi kuch baaki Hai?...Aap sabhi be dekh liya na ki iski saas kitni buri Hai ...Aur yeh kitni achchi!"

Maaya (1) is flabbergasted, as she is not pretending ..She genuinely loves Arjun, n wants to be genuinely accepted by Vandana..

Vandana continues taunting her that though Arjun could be blinded by her love, She was a mother who could understand things as her eyes were open...She loved Arjun n didn't want to control him...She says Maaya's love for Arjun was a game for Maaya, n she loves to win ...So whoever loves Maaya is bound to lose - excellent perspective & analysis by Vandana, though the tragedy here is that though Vandana is right in her perspective, she doesn't know that Maaya 1 & Maaya 2 are 2 entities in one body 😲

Vandana's final dialogue, " Jab tak main Zinda Hoon, main mere bete ko NAHI haarne doongi" (when there will finally be the tussle between Maaya 1 & Maaya 2, I expect Maaya 2 to completely take over Maaya to kill Arjun...Then Saanjh will reach out to Maaya 1 to remind her of her 7th vachan...Maaya 1 will temporarily resurface, n at that point Vandana will finally accept her. That will give Maaya 1 the final courage to kill Maaya 2 permanently. It could end with Maaya's death or Maaya healing completely)

Vandana walks away, Maaya (1) is sobbing on Saanjh's shoulder n Saanjh pacifies her.

This is followed by Jhanvi discovering the truth about Arjun n th e tantrik, n then Jhanvi's accident at the godown.

Strange are the vagaries of the human mind.....😕

Arjun has NOT murdered Ashwin, though he may have visited the murder spot that night, as his DNA samples have been found there.

In the episode when the doctor visited n checked Jhanvi, the doctor told Arjun that Jhanvi was totally stressed out after Ashwin's death n hence was hallucinating

Arjun asks him whether he could do something to help her out.

Then, they show us the doctor saying something to Arjun, with audio muted.

I suspect that the doctor asked Arjun to carry out the tantrik psychotherapy to relieve Jhanvi of her guilt. Arjun said he would do anything for Maaya.

N then Arjun pulls off the tantrik scene with Jhanvi, which unfortunately , Jhanvi discovers is a farce.

I think Jhanvi suspected all along that Maaya (2) has killed Ashwin. But when she discovered the "method" of Ashwin's murder, ie repeatedly injecting air into the blood stream to induce a heart attack, she got very disrurbed, due to the painful nature of his death.she keeps saying, "Ashwin ko bohot takleef Hui hogi"

Immediately outside the police station, in the car, Jhanvi started hallucinating about Ashwin...When Maaya (2) came n told her that Ashwin was dead, Jhanvi corrected her n asked her to say "Papa" n not Ashwin...She then pushes Maaya 2 out of the car as she is upset with the way Maaya 2 has killed Ashwin.

After reaching home, she is in a delirious state, n out of guilt, keeps saying sorry to Ashwin's picture, Bec, in a way, she was a partner in crime with Maaya 2 in Ashwin's murder.

When she discovered the truth about the tantrik, she realises that she won't be able to rid herself of Ashwin's ghost till she exposes Maaya 2....hence, she calls up Maaya n tells her that she knows about the real murderer n calls her to the old magazine godown where she wants to close the story where the whole story began.

THE GODOWN was the place where Ashwin tortured 9 year old Maaya...2 days after her 9th birthday, due to extreme trauma, Maaya 2, Maaya 1's alter ego was born, who crippled Ashwin for life. She was born to protect Maaya 1, n be the mother to her that Jhanvi never was ..Gradually, Maaya 2 started mothering Maaya 1

This is how Jhanvi wanted to close the story which began at the godown so many years ago, but Maaya 2 had other plans ...Maaya 2 will not allow Jhanvi to come in the way of Maaya 1's happiness, because exposing Maaya 2 will end Maaya's relationship with Arjun...

Remember Jhanvi once told Maaya to tell Arjun the truth...N Maaya refused n said, "Mere Sach se Kisi ko pyaar nahi ho sakta"...

I have been almost convinced its a case of MPD for a while now. I think there was a scene between Jhanvi and Maya long back where Maya is crying one moment, then suddenly completely changes her tone and asks Jhanvi to go and then again starts crying and begs her to stay. That sold me the MPD theory. (Bravo to Jen's performance in that scene 👏) From then I've been sure that this is her BIG SACH.

A couple of other observations that support this theory:

1. Jhanvi definitely knows about her condition. If you've noticed during the scene I mentioned above when Maya changes her tone even Jhanvi's demeanor changes. She suddenly looks scared of Maya and slowly tries to back off. She only stays back when Maya starts begging again.

2. Also, I've always felt that Jhanvi is perpetually careful around Maya. She is always talking to Maya like she is threading on broken glass or like she's talking to a ticking time bomb. She always seems to weigh her words carefully around her as if she is afraid that she might trigger something if she says the wrong words.Why would she need to be so careful around her own daughter??

I think Jhanvi is aware of how dangerous Maya 2 can be (maybe Maya 2 has already committed a crime that Ashwin kept threatening to expose). Hence her constant fear that Maya 2 may surface at any moment.

3. Jhanvi's dialogues to her attacker can easily be understood if we assume she was talking to Maya 2. Her saying that she trusted her, thought everything might change post marriage etc can be what she is telling Maya 2, that she thought that Maya 2 will go away after Maya 1 is married to Arjun and she trusted Maya 2. Also, the reason why she did not address her attacker by name and did not tell her "I loved you", "I protected you" instead of "I trusted you" like what we would assume she would tell Maya is because she was not really addressing her daughter "MAYA".

4. Jhanvi called Maya 1 to the godown to make her aware of what Maya 2 was doing but she got scared when she saw Arjun and Saanjh because she did not want to awaken Maya 2 in front of them. She still loves Maya 1 and wants Maya 1 to be happy.

5. MPD is the only way they can justify all of Maya's actions and still leave some room for her to be redeemed and have a happy life. Without MPD she will completely turn into a negative character. With MPD Maya 1 can still lead a happy life with treatment.

I think the final battle will be between the 2 Maya's. I can envision a scene towards the end where Maya 2 has completely taken over and Maya 1 is lost inside. Maya 2 has set out to destroy Arjun and is probably about to kill him . Saanjh tries to reach out to Maya 1 and asks her to come forward and take control, to save her love, to fight Maya 2. Finally Maya 1 is successful in completely gaining control of herself and will either eliminate Maya 2 or will kill herself so that Arjun can live. Thus proving Saanjh's dialogue about true love being about drowning yourself to save your loved one and fulfilling Maya's last vachan of loving Arjun till her last breath.

Maya 1's love for Arjun is what will finally make her defeat Maya 2.

I am eagerly waiting for the episode in which they show the transition(how) between these two Mayas. Fingers crossed.
