I Agree with absolutely all of what you wrote except just one line so I am going to focus on that (since you have already written everything in an exhaustive way- I don't know where to add, it is awesome!)

So here it is:-

' No child is manipulative by birth' .. nope. People can be suffering from conditions like psychopathy which can be from birth. Their manipulative instincts only get evident later on.

And even if it was something which Maya somehow got because of her abuse then she should acknowledge it and try to help herself.

An abusive childhood is not an excuse for manipulation and harming others (and yourself). I see such posts everywhere 'doesnt Maya deserve to be happy and not abandonment just because she suffers from mental 'conditions'? Of course she does! Every human deserves a happy life!

Maya needs to identify what makes her untrustworthy. She needs to acknowledge her problematic behaviors. Only then will she be able to heal. Child abuse screws you up - I know that very well - but I also know that you can't go about telling everybody about your past in real life just so they see why you behave in that particular manner. And even if everybody around you knows - you just can't use your past as an excuse. I personally hate such people because it makes things more difficult for survivors like myself who really believe in healing (and that healing involves acceptance of your past, being able to seek help and recognition of your problems). People tend to believe that survivors will get with themselves a problematic baggage of 'issues' and need special pampering in any relationship because 'love heals...' *eye rolls* . I just hope Maya gets the help and support she deserves - but that shouldn't be at the cost of Arjun's or anyone's peace.

@Darcy: You have made a good post. Maya wants to control over the things because of her insecurity which is quite high. She would not come in Jhanvi's way with respect to Ashwin if he was a good husband & father. Your life is yours as long as it does not affect others. I don't think Maya would have any problems with Ashwin's presence if it had not affected her. She had not got love for all these years and when she got that from Arjun, she became greedy for it.

Coming to Saanjh, her love for Arjun is beyhadh but she chases Arjun almost everywhere though he does not love her the same way. Her intentions are good as far as Arjun is concerned but her ways are wrong. Though she didn't confess her love for Arjun, she was enforcing her right on him and treating him like a property. When she confessed her love for Arjun, it was too late. She asked Arjun if he knew that she loves him, what he would have done to which Arjun took his hands off her. If Arjun had loved Saanjh he would have gone mad when her marriage with Jiten was fixed. But he was cool about it and was more eager to see her getting married.

I completely agree with you about Vandana.

@iMini: I agree with you that Maya cannot always use her past as an excuse. However, she needs someone who can knock some sense into her head which will help her to become a better person. What she needs is the constant assurance, not only by words but also by deeds and an able medical help. That is the only way to earn her trust. Once that is done, only then it will be possible to make her understand things. After she got Arjun, he has been the only person to pacify her other than Jhanvi but his act of getting up in the midway from his marriage only to make convince Saanjh to be a 100% part of his wedding is not acceptable. Any bride in Maya's place wouldn't have liked that. If Saanjh was in that place, even she wouldn't have liked it. She would have gone there and pulled him back to the mandap. He could have told his feelings to Saanjh some other time. Arjun could/does not love her the same way but it is not his fault. About Vandana, less said the better.

Where should I begin?
Lemme start off with my favorite
Maya:
She has not only faced torture in her past, but people constantly keep torturing her even now. Even after she has been married, She has to listen to listen to her MIL's unconfirmed taunts. There isn't a single person that hasn't given Maya pain in the show. Whether it be ashwin, Saanjh, vandana or even arjun. Arjun was supposed to fulfill his responsibilities of a husband, but instead her thought that his friend was more important than this would be wife! Like wt* man?! Agar abhi bhi yehi sab bachpana and drama karna tha tumne or Saanjh ne toh phir Shaadi hi kyun ki. After you get married you relationship changes with everyone, because after that the utmost important relationship would be that of you and your spouse. Arjun has broken his promises to Maya before the wedding and she remained quiet. But now if he breaks those same promises after getting married to her, I don't think she should remain quiet! I think she should question him about why he agreed to marry her if he couldn't keep his promises?!!!

Saanjh:
She acts like she is so innocent and all, but she isn't. I'm sorry to anyone who gets offended but this girl is not as "Bholi" as she seems. Even a child knows that you're not supposed to go and indirectly say "I love you" to the groom and end up embarrassing the bride in front of the world. She indirectly claimed that she was giving Arjun away as "bheek" to Maya, and directly disrespected her!

Vandana:
The less said the better
One thing I would want to point out. In the precap she says "Iss Shaadi se koi khush nahi rahega"
Like is this woman out of her mind?!! This is your daughter in law you're speaking to! You're cursing your own sons marriage and his newly wed wife! Imagine a mother in law saying that to a newly wed girl, how would she feel?! She will feel like crap! And that's what vandana is making her feel! What wrong has Maya done to you or your son, that you're wishing her ill for the future of her marriage?
That's honestly disgusting, cuz you're not only wishing ill for her, but also for your own son! If something wrong happens in their wedding cuz of your "manhoos" mouth, Maya won't be the only one to suffer! You're own son will suffer as well!

Arjun:
No comments!
He has shown that he will always be in a dilemma cuz he is dumb! He should know the limits of friendship, and so should his so called "bff"
They really weren't required to do such a big drama at this wedding! It clearly wasn't the time and place for them to proclaim their friendship as the worlds greatest friendship! He claims to know the difference between friendship and love, but he clearly doesn't. Because once you're in love your priorities are supposed to change, but here he seems to have gone aloof of the fact that he is responsible for someone else as well now!

Very nice analysis Katrina.

Well explained.

Maya isn't the girl who was supported and taught about life in her growing years and doesn't anyone to look up other than ashwin and jhanvi.

And both are not fit to be parents at all who are selfish in their own way.

Her insecurity level is high because we know where she's coming from. Her past isn't easy to be so normal like people ask her to behave.

She isn't mentally ill too acc to me. But she's mentally sensitive in issues related to relationships.

She never wanted allow anyone into her heart but it happened as destiny it is. But seeing the the father who cheats on her mom she keeps loyalty in highest regard in relationship.

She is scared bcoz of her history.

Like people are saying her to be some mental, dimaagii problem isn't the right way to deal with a person in general.

I heard that there are 64 types of madness in this world. And if the person doesnt take meds for any mental problems isn't completely right or a Gautam Buddha. Bcoz every person today is disturbed mentally with something or other like heavy stress, over thinking, depression, emotionally sensitive, overly ambitious.. these are all related with mind.

So if u see everyone has in all of us something or other defect even though we don't take any meds or counciling now and then for our problems.

Coming to arjun, I can't still connect or analyze & understand completely. Sometimes I feel he loves maya alot, sometime he's greefy for money ,sometimes he loves saanjh etc.

I hope u got my confusion here, there was nothing deeply gone into his character till now like his inner thoughts. And he isn't known how to behave and when to act somethings. He's so self centered & egoistic to some extent.

Vandana is a case where she's blindly hating maya & don't know being a woman with such age the matters which are sensitive.

Her hateful looks are result how immature she is behaving and making such illogical comments in a wedding abt a girl who's going to marry her son. May she will realize value of maya at the end of this show, I hope so. And also I hope she knows to not rub her views on her son to accept blindly like she's doing.

Saanjh, she's one who's so much obsessed with arjun that she even considers Arjun ways when he treats her in a bad way.

Yeah she loves him but like arjun said "it's not my mistake that I cudnt love u back" in maha epi. Yes she's making him feel guilty unnecessarily and making a scene on someone's Spl day.

She still isn't moved on or wiped away arjun from her life.

Her Obsession of arjun isn't giving her an open mind perspective towards maya.

Ashwin my fav character I mean in acting rajiv khattar his character u see. That guy is a potential villain for maya/Jen acting. They two were enough to set the trps on fire for this show i feel. Seriously, what's interesting than the two of them in this show.

I wud haven't watched this show if Maya wasn't there and ashwin is as much responsible for this being a own father torturing his daughter to such extent was new to us.

And coming ashwin death I don't think the expected characters might not be the one murdered or cause of his death but someone else who we won't expect.

Very good post Katrina. you have analyzed all the characters very well. Maya can be brought around if someone shows some understanding.

Saanjh has not known a loss that's why it hurts her so much. Arjun well he wants the best of both worlds. Excepts both the girls to be available at his beck and call.

I dont want to talk about Vandana but Mandy told a beautiful thing. Her problem is Maya is not Saanjh, same thing it was for Arjun Vandana was not Raksha.

The episode began with Jhanvi shedding tears over Ashwin's death. She is The same lady who took the gun to shoot him. Maya consoled Jhanvi.

Maya - Today we have got to see Maya who has not manipulated. She literally pleaded to the cops not to punish Arjun for Maya's crimes. She is the same Maya who had slapped the inspector after bailing out Ayaan. Till yesterday, we have got to see her beyhadhgiri in her obsession. She decides to walk out of Arjun's life remembering the pundit's words in Mauritius after being taunted by Vandana.

Arjun - He was different today. He began to fume when the cops began to put the same questions in a different way. When Maya told the inspector not to punish Arjun for her crimes, Arjun told her that she is his izzat and warned the inspector against passing cheap comments about Maya. and he won't tolerate anybody looking up to her in a bad way. Any normal husband would react like that. In the precap, he gets mad at her and says fine.

Saanjh - She had behaved little weird today who had asked for the postmortem report as if she is waiting for the exam results. The police only called Arjun for the inquiry. He didn't tell Arjun that he is under arrest. If the cops have to arrest someone, they have to show the arrest warrant. Saanjh had asked the inspector about it just for the small inquiry. Her stupidity is beyhadh today. But the good side of it is she showed genuine concern towards Maya.

Jhanvi - She had assured Maya that nothing will come between her and Arjun who is her happiness and will go to any extent for that. She had taken the gun and was ready to shoot Ashwin who has been coming in her way of her happiness. The same lady cried for him today. She is at both the extremes of her beyhadhgiri.

Vandana - Her superstitious beliefs and hatred towards Maya are beyhadh. She has been grumbling saying Jis baat ka darr tha wohi hua. But that is her mindset. She has thought negative that is why negative things have happened. If Ashwin tortured Maya, is it her fault? She has been calling Maya as a witch and thinking that she had done a black magic on Arjun to love her. But the thing is that Maya had won Arjun's heart and Vandana could not digest that.

Above all, the cops are more obsessed to take revenge from Maya more than the murder case.

Vandana's character was shown as sensible and perceptive at the beginning of the series. It is utterly disappointing to see her turn into a bitter, venomous woman who passes vile and nasty comments about another woman. It is true that many people are superstitious, but the woman that Vandana is now is the typical nasty and vindictive mother in-law, simply because she didn't get to have the daughter in-law that she wanted. Superstitions do not make it acceptable to verbally insult and abuse another person. Also, she is only believing selective things that the pandit said.

@Katrina I agree to everything you said except Saanjh. There was a reason Saanjh asked for post mortem report. A cop can call Arjun for questioning only if Ashwin death is a murder. What will give that proof post mortem report.

Saanjh was behaving like a lawyer today for her friend as well as his wife. I loved the way she stood up when that creepy inspector asked what did Ashwin do to Maya. There was no need to ask that question that too the most vulgar way.

I have nothing to say about Vandana. She is the biggest hypocrite I have come across. Her laws are person dependant. She forgets her own journey while accusing Maya. I hope the CVs show this lady her place.

I am liking the new Saanjh who is not only standing for Arjun but also for Maya. Hope she remains the same. I now like Maya more than before as she decided to walk out of Arjun's life for his safety and well-being. That is the actual sacrifice. Arjun said fine in the precap. I am waiting when is he going to say further. I want Maya to stop thinking herself as a bad omen and fight her demons within her as well as show Vandana her place. Also want Arjun to tell Vandana off.
