one more thing about season 1 is.. there Maya would execute a plan and there would be suspense who did it... then later she would disclose it was her...

like framing Ayaan for Molestation.. she behaved like she was actually hurt by him.. which created a thrill among viewers.. some believed ayaan is guilty.... few guessed maya is framing him.. that created an interest... they used to clarify in much later episodes what happened and how it happened.. that kept the suspense...

but here since the story is different.. and it demands different style of narration... here it's clear that she came with agenda of revenge.. so it's kinda obvious whatever is happening is doing of Maya.. the suspense here is what actually happened to maya 10 years back..

I guess there people are getting disappointed and not getting the thrill factor..

But it has to be accepted that both stories are different of different people.. and same or similar narration can not be expected from both..

rest everyone has different opinion and different preference..

also harmed anyone who caused her harm. Maya 2.0 inflicts pain without reasoning and it's like what the hell.

Maya 1.0 was abused by Rajeev 1.0, her father Ashwin, her mother, Saanjh, Arjun, the police officers. So she got even with every one of them.

Maya 2.0 is hurting those who have never hurt her. There's no reasoning. We saw why Maya 1.0 killed Ashwin. The fact that Ashwin was abusing Maya 1.0 and her mother was made clear within the first few episodes. We are hitting episode 20 soon and we have no idea about Maya 2.0's brother/father, or what happened between Maya 2.0 and MJ. šŸ¤”

Maya 1.0 hurt a lot of innocent people as well, more than Maya2.0. She killed an innocent woman Mansi just to execute her schemes.

Also, its completely wrong to say that Arjun and Saanjh abused her. Arjun tried his best to adjust with her but she stifled him to inhuman extents by having him under literally 24*7 CCTC surveillance. Saanjh almost kissed Arjun once after ArYa marriage, but she repented it and from then on supprted Maya against Vandana and others. Also, she framed Ayan falsely for rape and did innumerable unjustified heinous crimes.

Maya 2.0 is better than Maya 1.0 as of now as far as morals are concerned, I'd say. But yes, the story is quite common and not so unique this time.

And about harming Rishi.. he is a weapon she is using to hurt MJ.. it's not about morally correct or wrong.. it's what she needs to get her revenge.. I don't see any point in comparing both the season characters as they are 2 different people.. i don't know what Maya in 2nd season is capable of cause it's still going.. but from what i have seen in season 1 Maya have killed people for no reason.. they didn't even harm her and neither had any relation to people who wronged her.. and it can not be excused on her mental health..

About blaming God.. well people are different.. I have a friend who blames God for every tiny hurdle she gets 'bhagwaan aisa hi karte hai mere sath' 'bhagwaan unfair hai' 'bhagwaan achhe logo ke sath bura kyu karte hai' and then i have another friend who thanks God even when things are not going so well for him.. he would thank God for blessing him with obstacle that will help him grow as a human.. Different people have different equation with God... šŸ˜†

But I agree with you.. few things don't make sense here yet.. like you said how she got rich in that period.. may be they can show her last 10 years struggle in future episodes...

and sometimes I feel too much talking is happening.. like the party was stretched to 3-4 episodes which could have been done in 1 less episode.. and too much talking about death.. like extra foreshadowing.. that much is not needed.. too much talking at times ruins the shock factor and makes it predictable...

but pace was also a problem in season 1 at times.. there used to be filler episodes in that season too..

The debate about morality when it comes to Beyhadh 1 is a long one.... I just never felt anything for people who died at Maya's hand.... Not even for a second....šŸ˜› I am sadist like that.... They explained her situation very well.... Tormented since her childhood she gave every ounce of trust and love to Arjun.... His family knew about her mental illness.....instead of treating her illness, they "Ill treated" her.... To each their own....

I am not blaming Maya... You are getting defensive.... Maya is not a mentally ill person this time... She used God to keep that sane part of her which won't let her hurt innocents under control.... "I am not wrong, because God controls everything... He is making me do this, how can he be wrong? Hence I am not wrong"......People don't do wrong things thinking they are wrong...I have accepted this part of her.. I just want them to continue this.... But they have continuation problems as I gave example of how they dropped Maya's different avatar in front of different people within 2 weeks....

This show has a long way to go.... I am not saying that it is a bad show... I watch it every night... I just don't wait for it like I waited for Beyhadh 1....its not gripping or intriguing.. Far better than other ITV shows..... I had high expectations

Just my two cents

- In BH 1.0 we witnessed an entire journey of Maya from a successful business woman to a sociopathic killer out of love. You saw the past, the present, the outcome in future. Albeit midway BH 1.0 also lost its plot and Maya was portrayed a typical vamp with murderous intentions. We saw Maya being smart, suave, loving, and finally a crazed killer. Her past issues which were the reason for her behavior were never addressed.

- In BH 2.0 we are witnessing Maya in between her journey I.e she has a past and she is out for revenge. She is being shown as a naive loving girl whose life has been destroyed by the Roys or due to the Roys. The non-linear format of the story does affect the understanding of the viewers especially those that are fed on saas-bahu-sazish type of shows where you don't have to decipher things or apply your mind. But lack of clarity on her wrong doers is going to create confusion for some too.

- BH 1.0 Maya was a sociopathic killer. She did kill and endanger innocents. BH 2.0 Maya is a liberator- she is helping Rudra liberate himself from his past. Rishi liberate from MJs control. To think BH 2.0 Maya is worse than BH 1.0 Maya is not digestable imo. I agree that beyond a point a lack of clarity of her past does affect the narrative and makes it difficult to back her as a character but I am hopeful CVs will be able to avoid that pitfall in due course.

- The side characters of BH 2.0 are far superior than BH 1.0. I love KT and I love Shivin but Sanjh was insufferable and so was Arjuns affection for her. I hope this Maya has a better fate than BH 1.0. Ek Hasina Thi is a benchmark in revenge saga and BH 2.0 has started off fairly well. Also I find MayRa a big strong point in BH 2.0 and hopefully cvs use them smartly.

I beg to differ, for me B1 was so boring that even my love for jenny could not able to convince me after ArYa marriage ....... the storyline was so bad ...only good thing was Maya only....all other character was good for nothing

That's why they were killing each character one by one

Rajesh Khattar was amazing and has a potential to match jenny or vice versa but he left the show

And about B2 ,it have such a interesting storyline and brilliant actors ....B2 now is not just a jenny show (being a jenny fan am saying this)

Newcomers Ananya and rishi also doing a fab job

Arjun n saanjh were so annoying

But in B2 you will not able to admire the friendship of RuAn

This season it's a Revenge drama ,and Maya's expression was perfect for a heartbroken revengeful girl

So what about that woman Mansi who Maya got to do plastic surgery? Did she deserve to die? Or Ayan? Did he deserve to get falsely framed for rape? She even tried to kill her own mother who shielded and protected her from childhood.

She also poisoned a small child.

Can all these be justified in the name of mental illness? Maya was not completely dysfunctionally insane, she still had a basic amount of sanity to distinguish right from wrong. Maya was a sociopath with an anti-social disorder. Sociopaths are not let off from punishment by insanity plea.

As I said this debate of morality is age old and I am not looking forward to start it again.... It's not like I can change your mind or you can change my mind.... I am watching this as a show and I sympathized with Maya... Everyone else meant nothing to me... These were mere characters which were introduced to show downfall of Maya.... I don't care about them... In real life, it's a different story...

Sociopaths like Maya 1.0 Belong in an institution, there is no light at the end of a tunnel for them. Just like in real life, murderers and sociopathic serial killers are put to death or put in prison. I will never have any sympathy towards those who obliterate innocents, their only fault was that they stood against maya. Furthermore, Maya's past issues, mental illness or backstory was not developed properly- Jennifer elevated maya to another level even though her arc was half baked. I have no desire to watch characters who are cruel and the only reason is " she is beyhadh or she is mentally ill." also, Mental illness is a serious issue but makers used it as a plot device to add thrill and show maya's limitless pursuits, which I did not appreciate.

But when we analyze a show or movie, we consider characters as well. A single character cannot be judged without taking into account all the others, that makes it meaningless.

And there was no grey area of morality in Beyhadh 1. Certain actions of hers were EVIL in the most basic and simplistic sense. She was grye in the beginning, but later she turned charcoal black. That is a FACT which cannot be debated.
