This whole morality talk is correct.....but that was Maya ...point being when they brought second installment of a show with tag line #MayaAgain ...... if she was disliked or not good as a character...Why would they bring her back?....

Maya is not a human .....Maya is a character....psychotic...sociopathic ....all this was a part of Her and I liked watching it....She died in the end...She was wrong...She killed people....She was deranged....She was thriller...It was a tv show...none used their bed as a cave to kill people.... They brought S2 with Maya ....I watched that show till the end and I didn’t feel bored...It was an exciting watch 🙏🤦‍♀️

Anyway, I don’t think I can change anyone’s opinion....I just shared that the excitement isn’t there as of now m

But when we analyze a show or movie, we consider characters as well. A single character cannot be judged without taking into account all the others, that makes it meaningless.

And there was no grey area of morality in Beyhadh 1. Certain actions of hers were EVIL in the most basic and simplistic sense. She was grye in the beginning, but later she turned charcoal black. That is a FACT which cannot be debated.

Who denied that Maya was grey in the beginning....white when she was young and completely black in her obsession....and she died in the end ...she got what she deserved...her actions destroyed her....I didn’t feel anything for anyone else ..

Well, I agreed with that last line. I don't think this show is boring, but like I said before the 'novelty' of concept is missing.

IMO Maya Mehrotra is iconic. And Maya Jai Singh is equally on the verge of being an iconic one. Period. 👑

Well I beg to differ here. I agree Beyhadh 1 will always be a landmark in Jenny’s career and it’s probably hard for her to outdo her own performance but I am liking Beyhadh 2 better. It started on a low note I agree but it has picked up. The best part about second season for me is that every character has layers. S1 was about Maya’s pagalpanti. The ML was shallow. Arjun was not a strong enough character. Just a self centered spoilt brat who had everyone at his beck and call be it his best friend, his step brother or step mom. Everybody including Maya’s life revolves around him for no good reason. The makers focused on only one character. This definitely made Jenny shine as an actor and I love her performance but other than the fact that Maya had an abusive childhood what was there to the show? It was all about how Maya will react to this situation or that. The story telling approach was more reactive if I can put it that way and there was nothing other than Maya in it. Whereas in s2 every character has a story to tell which contributes to the overall journey. Both the stories have their own approach and at the end it boils down to what u would prefer to watch. I enjoyed s1 till a certain point only after which I quit. S2 started on a dry note but enjoying it now.

It's not intriguing because the show is way too slow.

Beyhadh1 was all about Maya's obsession with Arjun..that didn't work for me for two reasons- Arjun the character was not likeable enough to fathom somebody go to the extremes Maya did to get him..plus the actor being so below average didn't help..whereas Beyhadh 2 sure has parallels with S1, for instance Maya's equation with her mom, her personality traits, her past is traumatic though reasons are different.. she seems to have had a very normal, happy childhood unlike Maya from S1.. the trauma that changed her was not from within her family but from outside.. the one thing that's refreshing in S2 is the cast.. almost everyone can act unlike season1.. especially the male lead is very impressive.. m glad the story doesn't revolve around Maya's obsession with him.. every character be it Maya, Rudra, MJ, Maya's mom, Rudra's mom, Diya or even dadi have a backstory.. a reason for why they are the way they are... that's intriguing.. in S1 only Maya had a backstory... there were no layers, no nothing in the rest of the characters.. they were all pretty ''normal'' and over the top for no reason.. so yeah Beyhadh 2 is way better than Beyhadh 1 ..atleast for me..

I agree with you...My viewpoint in this matter is that Maya 1 has psychological issues.... She did not have an understanding of wrong and right, she didn't understand moral, ethical and societal barriers... All she understood was her head going haywire whenever something threatened to take away Arjun from her.... Our law doesn't punish mentally ill people for a reason.....There was a justification for Maya 1....Her brain wasn't like ours....

Maya 2 is not like that... She was an innocent who went through hell...but how does one justify Maya going after innocents like Rishi for her revenge?.... If anything, Rishi is as innocent as she was in her youth.... She is hurting him like MJ hurt her... Degree maybe different but MJ took Maya's innocence from her and She is taking Rishi's innocence from him.... What we have to see is how far she will go?....

Maya 2 is darker than Maya 1.... I don't mind dark characters.... From what I see, she is doing wrong and she blaming her wrong deeds on God.... Last night she kept saying that God is making her do this and God can't be wrong.... She uses words Lord Krishna used during Mahabharata to justify herself.... But her interpretation is not correct....

From what I see... Maya 2 is darker...I do not mind darker... Rather I would appreciate if written correctly....

Problem with this production house and team is that they don't remember what they have shown.... They leave out important points of characters midway... Like they forgot about the fact that Maya has to portray herself as an innocent in front of Rishi....

Maya 1 always won because she was a successful business woman up against middle class family of Arjun...... When she lost her money... She lost her battle... Maya 2.0 does not come from a family of means... Her mother thinks that she was jobless and got job in Rudra's company.... So she is not aware of Maya being rich... How did she become Rich?.. Moreover she is up against someone who is richer and more powerful than her... I can let go of this thinking that her invisibility is the reason for her invincibility against MJ for now...

Beyhadh 1 and Maya 1 was more worldly and less ITV than Beyhadh 2..... Beyhadh 2 is all about "Ye ho raha hai" "CCTV Hai MJ ke ghar me" "Maya rich ho gayi 10 years me" Sab man lo... Kyo?.... Because ITV.....Beyhadh 1 always made sense... Even when Arjun was rich after leap... He didn't start from scratch... He had Maya's shares and her company..... Lukkha admi (I am sorry, I still get mad at them)...

Maybe Maya 2.0 has mental issues too which will come to the fore later. We don't know that yet. She's rich coz she's a best selling author, remember? That's why she's so rich. Her books have sold some million copies.

The rest. That's what. Maya 2 doesn't seem to have psychological issues. She's more driven, planned and controlled. Or maybe she does. We don't know yet. It's just started. I'd say don't give it up for now. Watch it for the suspense. And root for MJ and Rudra if you want. MJ is a kickass character. 😈

In season 1,Maya was a character who suffered and still manages a strong face in front of the world but got melted once she realizes that she fell for Arjun but still afraid to lose him. Her possessive nature was result of her fear and every one can feel the character pain even though character was grey and they turned her negative. So ,her character was result of her suffering and the story was clear to its viewer.

But in season 2,her character is strong ,manipulative and revengeful. We all are loving Jenifer’s acting but still fuzzy about her past with MJ, Whether as a lover ,Rudra's controlling dad or by any means for business, He destroyed her family. One thing is clear ,Maya's extreme hatred &actions are born out from her extreme love for the person she loved in her past and after his betrayal, She turned into a cold -lady. But if the person was MJ only then why they are not showing the person's face in her flash backs and even Rudra 's flashbacks are not clear. If they already make one thing clear that MJ is the only villain and why they are not showing clear flashbacks as we know Rudra hates his father for the thing he done in his past or still they want to bring twist in the story. I wish they've shown the story from start. If the story was shown from the start ,may be we love to see the progress and after MJ betrayal, We can co-relate her actions. The entire cast is doing a fab job and and I am loving each every episode but still want to jump to the epi where they will make everything clear .The show is setting a bar and i actually want to know the back story of cute Maya and how she realted to MJ who was married to antara ,the person who knows true MJ.I need their back story as soon as possible.

at last ...Loving all angles of this triangle.

Strong Maya

Evil MJ

Good-Hearted Rudra...Just my views not to hurt anyone.

Just my two cents

- In BH 1.0 we witnessed an entire journey of Maya from a successful business woman to a sociopathic killer out of love. You saw the past, the present, the outcome in future. Albeit midway BH 1.0 also lost its plot and Maya was portrayed a typical vamp with murderous intentions. We saw Maya being smart, suave, loving, and finally a crazed killer. Her past issues which were the reason for her behavior were never addressed.

- In BH 2.0 we are witnessing Maya in between her journey I.e she has a past and she is out for revenge. She is being shown as a naive loving girl whose life has been destroyed by the Roys or due to the Roys. The non-linear format of the story does affect the understanding of the viewers especially those that are fed on saas-bahu-sazish type of shows where you don't have to decipher things or apply your mind. But lack of clarity on her wrong doers is going to create confusion for some too.

- BH 1.0 Maya was a sociopathic killer. She did kill and endanger innocents. BH 2.0 Maya is a liberator- she is helping Rudra liberate himself from his past. Rishi liberate from MJs control. To think BH 2.0 Maya is worse than BH 1.0 Maya is not digestable imo. I agree that beyond a point a lack of clarity of her past does affect the narrative and makes it difficult to back her as a character but I am hopeful CVs will be able to avoid that pitfall in due course.

- The side characters of BH 2.0 are far superior than BH 1.0. I love KT and I love Shivin but Sanjh was insufferable and so was Arjuns affection for her. I hope this Maya has a better fate than BH 1.0. Ek Hasina Thi is a benchmark in revenge saga and BH 2.0 has started off fairly well. Also I find MayRa a big strong point in BH 2.0 and hopefully cvs use them smartly.

Very well said, Tanu! 👏
