Trps do matter for all channels but i believe some shows are above trps. In bp's case , so far trps were not given tht much importance by the channel. Colors has been giving heavy promotion to BP since it's launch time.
In this 7 mnths our trps hav hit the worse nd also the best but trp fluctuation never affected the promotion by channel. You can go through channel's IG and twitter page not even once they failed to promote BP nd the best thing is they are promoting on daily basis! So why would they continously promote a show which has not so good trp.

Silsila also has popular star cast but tht show doesnt get promotion like BP. Infact tht show is getting severe backlash frm audience still the leads went to promote their show last week! I think after BP oly salim anarkali got big launch. So if the channel is promoting a show continously inspite of it's average trps then there should be some benefit in it.

And this SR promotion is the best promotion tht BP has got till date. They promoted it at unusual timing around 12.00 in the midnight!! Even in tht midnight ppl were active , IF ND TWITTER WERE ON FIRE. It shows channel knw when fans are active nd when they are not , they released the clips at right timing! Channel is using BP's online SM popularity, infact BP is more popular on SM than this season's BB.I would say BP is one of thoe shows which is above TRP.

Though I am convinced Colors will let BP run it's course of 12-15 months, given how much was spent on it and honestly, though I would love for this show to go on for like 2 years, I don't know how that can be done without ruining the essence of AdiYa. Irrespective of how much we love BP at the end of the day it is a business venture. Pure and simple.

From what limited knowledge I have, Colors gives a show multiple chances - esp ones with loyal online audience - before handing it the pink slip. Like Rangrasiya was.

Colors are promoting Silsila through other means because they have received backlash from online audience.

Shifting from TV to web? Ektas DHTH was shifted from TV to web. Though Ekta has her own Alt balaji web channel. Bepannaah can be shifted to voot like KYY2. BP is anyways popular than both these shows and at least on par.

And the best part is despite Non-SR the show got amazing promotion & grabbed a lot of eyeballs. Aggar SR hoga toh socho?

I am not are what will the show or the channel gain due to all of a sudden promotion of a hot song sequence. But one thing for sure. These 2 days promotion of a song created history online. IF, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, everything was on fire. There are at least 10 websites including Times of India who published articles on this one song sequence. Jenshad as an onscreen pair got even more fame and popularity. One website even declared them as the hottest onscreen couple so Jenshad definitely benefited a lot from this sudden promotion.
Colors targeted not just online audience but also trp audience. I saw that they almost gave the whole song sequence to all news channels to air. So this song sequence was promoted on tv too alongwith SM. Did the trp audience get attracted to Jenshad chemistry in the song and watched the episode? We will know that next week though I still have no faith in trp audience.

Has any channel ever used the profits from high trp shows to subsidise a loss-making show before? For eg. Colors could use the profits from Shakti and Nagin to subsidise BP, as BP gives it a premium publicity and brand recognition among the youth and overseas audience. In a retail business, many times money-making items are used to offset the losses of other items.

I hope Colors strategy succeeds because at the end of the day TRP audience is what brings in the moolah. *Fingers crossed*

P.S. i'm Not saying BP is making losses now. But just in case in future if it goes into the red as it runs longer.
