Anandi is most definitely a hypocrite, because even if it was the doctor who asked for her name (and not the other way around where she deliberately name dropped)... she had to know when initiating the conversation and starting her lecture that someone on the hospital staff would definitely ask "who the f**k are you lady?"
and so she always had intentions of knowing that her name would have an impact.
I dont believe there is anything wrong in the mission of anandi to help the child and parents.
However, what was really off-putting to me was the way she went directly and began attacking the nurse "aap aise kaise mana kar sakte hain"
I find her approach offensive for two reasons:--
1. Every story has two sides, and she could politely have approached the nurse and asked politely what the hospital's reasons were for not admitting the child.
2. The nurse is a junior person, and if at all she talked to the nurse, she should have only asked the nurse for the name of the hospital superintendent. The nurse was only obeying orders and this should be obvious to anandi with her years of experience in Jagya's hospital and dealing with government in general. Low underlings dont have such decision making authority.
Instead, she directly went and started picking up a fight with the nurse and that too in public... thereby almost trying to instigate a riot in the hospital. Tomorrow after she leaves, the patients can be emboldened to beat up doctors and nurses.
Anandi could have given the doctor a lecture in private and got across whatever point she wanted.
And I too have the same question that Jan50 had. Why could the parents not get a discharge certificate?
And if there was some genuine problem with the old hospital not giving them a discharge certificate then why did they not reveal THAT problem to anandi? and ask anandi to fix THAT problem.
The parents slyly concealed that there was some administrative procedure lacking on their end.
They made it seem as if all their papers were in order but the hospital was STILL refusing to admit their baby. This is not correct at all.
Granted the baby is not at fault, but still the mishandling seems to be on the parents side and not on the hospital's side.
