Anuj got up holding his head..he looked around to find Vikram wiping his face..he looked at the watch which showed 9:30 am

Vikram looked at him happily and sat next to him on the bed

V - tu theek haina?

A - haan..par tu abhi tak college kyun nahi gaya?

V - halat dekh apni..tu jab tak hosh mae nahi ata mae kaise chala jata gadhe

Anuj rolled his eyes

A - i m fine..tu ja college mae ata hun..aaj partner change karne ke liye mam ke pass bhi jana hai

V - uski zaroorat nahi padegi

Saying he smiled widely..anuj furrowed his eyes in confusion

A - matlab

V - devu ne message kiya tha anupama ne partner switch se mana kardiya hai

A - kya?

V - haan!

A - kyun?

Vikram scratched his head and blurted out

V - pata nahi anu na bohat ajeeb behave kar rahi hai kal se..

A - matlab?

V - matlab tu yakeen nahi karega but devika ne meri kasam kha kar kahi hai ye Baath ke anu ne vivek ko thapad mara hai aur kal usne teri injury reports bhi li thi..ab mujhse maat puch kyun we don't know anything..chal mae jata hun tu ready hoja college canteen mae kuch khalenge phir mae tujhe tablet deta hun

Anuj nodded while Vikram made his way out..he stood up..and picked the clothes for the day..he removed his t - shirt thats when smell got his attention..he sniffed

Anuj - anu ka perfume?

Lagta hai mujhe kuch zyada hee chot ayi hai kuch bhi soch ta hai tu anuj

He dropped the t shirt in the bin and removed the watch from his hand thats when a star with a small chain dropped..he took and observed it

Anuj - anu yaahan ayi thi wo mere khareeb thi..aaj toh tumhe mere sawalon ka jawab dena hee hoga Anupama

College Ground

The principal stood on the dias of the ground..at his left stood vivek and his group and rest of the students stood infront of him

Principal - students we are really sorry for all the issues you have gone through due to some of your seniors..I can't change the past but I will assure all of you that in future it won't be repeated..Mr vivek

He eyed at him while Vivek looked up and joined the principal on dias and looked at the crowd

Vivek - im really sorry guys..anuj I m really sorry for yesterday

Anupama smiled while the principal gave her a nod..that small interaction was seen by anuj..anuj looked at vivek and nodded

Anupama was speaking with her juniors while anuj stood gazing at her from a distance..as soon as she came to his side engrossed in a book..he held her wrist..she looked at their hands and then at anuj..she gulped and tried glaring him

Anu - ye kya batameezi hai

Anuj - chalo

Anu - haath chodo mera anuj

She tried coming out of his grip but he lifted her in his arm and walked towards the isolated backyard

Anu - kya kar rahe ho koyi dekh lega anuj..tumhe kal hee chot lagi thi aur aj macho man bane phir rahe ho..chodo mujhe

Anuj gazed at her and dropped her down..she tried moving to the other side when he pressed her to the wall

Anu - tum dur reh ke Baath nahi karsakte

Anuj - kyun? Itna hee dur rehna tha toh partner switch kyun nahi kiya

She looked at the other side gulping..anuj held her chin

Anuj - look at me..jawab do anupama..theek hai wo chodo..tell me what were you doing in my room?

She looked at him in shock

Anuj - bolo

She tried moving away when anuj held anu's wrist & asked pointing at her bracelet

Anuj - where is the 4th star?
tum mere kamre mae ayi thi na?tumne partner switch karne se mana kardiya hai..tumne vivek ko thapad mara aur ab jo usne maafi mangi thi wo bhi tumhare wajah se

Anupama gulped

Anuj - why?

She sighed and replied

Anu - because we are..we are friends

Anuj chuckled - (in mind) - should I smile because we are friends

She blinked her eyes multiple times to avoid her tears - (in mind) - or should I cry because we are just friends

They stood gazing at each other

Anuj's Pov - There is friendship and there is love, then there is a friend who turned into someone who you deeply fell in love with. It's hard to explain why you fell in love with them but, now you know there's no turning back. Feelings are stupid, they come around when you least expect them to and for the most unexpected people. Everytime that person crosses your mind, you think of how things would've been different if you guys were dating, how deeply and flawlessly you would've loved them. But then, reality hits you and numbness surrounds you for sometime.

Anu's pov - People say it's difficult to stay friends with someone you really love, but sometimes, only you know how much it'll hurt to let them walk away, how much you'll curse yourself for not only letting a person you truly love but also a good friend to leave your life. You choose to hide your feelings as you know that might be the only hope to keep them in your life.

The small things the person does makes you fall for them more. Let it be just giving you a tight hug on your bad day or sitting in silence with you just because they like your company. You know that friend doesn't love you but the thought, "Should I smile because we're friends or cry because we're just friends", somehow finds a way to creep up into your head.

Anuj's pov - Loving someone and them not loving you back is something which one can't change and it can truly break anyone apart. But, that's life, isn't it? We don't always get what we want. Friends and just friends - that's the power one word can hold. No matter whether you stay friends or just friends with them, you know that they'll always hold a place in your heart, whether or not they stay in your life.

He held her wrist and hung the chain attached with the star in her bracelet tracing it..she gazed at their hands with a sad smile

The rest of the week had passed in a jiffy..it was the first day of the talents week..students were getting ready in their respective rooms near by the auditorium

anupama had worn blue color gown with white beads and anuj had worn blue coat with white shirt in..anupama stood wearing her earrings and behind him stood anuj setting his hair..their eyes kept playing hide and seek until one of the volunteer came up with Breakfast

Anuj took the plates in and kept it on the chair gazing at anupama..she had left her hairs open..he closed his eyes -

He stood behind circling his hands around her petite waist blowing air on her hairs..she melted in his arms while he pecked her earlobe and said

Anuj - Princess

She turned around and adjusted his collar and said

Anu - only if you're the prince

He cupped her face

Anuj - mine..my princess..my anu

She tilted her head sideways and looked at him

Anu - yours..just yours

She snapped her finger infront of him breaking his reverie

Anu - khana khao..phir hume jana bhi

Anuj - khana sirf mere liye nahi tumhare liye bhi aya hai

Anu - mujhe nahi khana

Anuj - mae dekhta hun kaise nahi khati tum

He lifted her by her waist and made her sit on the single slab..she glared at him but he held her tightly by her waist..and took the spoon near his mouth

Anuj - open your mouth anu

She opened her mouth to speak only to feel the spoon in her mouth..he held her jaw lightly

Anuj - chew it

Her nose flared in anger and she chewed aggressively making her choke..he instantly brought the glass of water and held her head from back while she gulped the water holding his hand

He got a quick flashback -

Anuj sat on the stairs munching the chips they get once in a week in the Orphanage when anu closed his eyes from behind..he held her tiny hands and brought her next to him passing the packet

She had the chips and the spices made her cough..an worried anuj ran to the purifier filling the glass and made her drink the water

Anuj - tumhari ye jaldi khane ki aadat abhi tak nahi gayi na

He rolled his eyes and brought the spoon..she had the food with tears evident in her eyes after all she was never fed by anyone so lovingly or she was in her childhood which she didn't remember..she didn't notice what he had said being completely engrossed in her painful childhood

Nazre yeh aapki karne lagi hoshiyaariyan
Kahin kar de na ye mere liye dushwariyaan

his hands automatically went to her lips to remove the food particles..she heaved and looked at him while his eyes were fixed on her lips..she bit his finger and he shouted in pain

She started laughing loudly while he glared at her..he was about to move out when she held her wrist and pointed at the chair

Anu - aao idhar tumne nahi khaya hai

Anuj - aab mujhe nahi khana

She chuckled at his pout

Anuj - what so funny?

Dil ki baatein dhadkan jaane hai
Jispe guzre wo tann jaane hai

She kept the spoonful of rice in his mouth while he frozed..she fed him..he closed his eyes savoring the moment

They were all set to go out when she stumbled anuj immediately held her hand and bended infront her..she held onto his shoulder while he hooked her heels

He got up while she just smiled..they walked out..and the ramp walk was about to start..the participants stood at the back stage while the host started welcoming the couples

One by one all the couples started walking on the ramp..anu bended as she felt somewhat uncomfortable at her back..kavya and vanraj looked at her then at each other with a smirk

Flashback -

As soon as anupama went into washroom kavya entered the room..she looked at the dress and took the needle from the drawer and removed the stitches of back near the zipper such that when she moves it would come undone

She eyed at the door and then at the dress

K - anything to have u as mine anuj!!

She came out and signaled vanraj a thumbs up

Anupama felt uneasy while anuj observed her before he could ask the host announced

Host - last but not the least let's call anuj and anupama on the stage..

Anuj held her hand and pressed it misinterpreting it to be a stage fear..she held onto his hand tightly like never before

They appeared on the stage with a wide smile and hands locked..they walked looking at the audience and then at each other

While vanraj and kavya sat smirking in the audience..anupama's eyes turned wide when she felt her zipper down and stitches breaking..anuj gazed at her while she tried smiling..he gazed at her and then at her back while she gulped

Katra katra mujh me tu
Dariya sa ban ne laga

Instantly he brought his hand on her back and held the edges of the dress..her dress was covered by his palm and hairs..he whispered

Anuj - keep your hand on my back..so that it looks like a pose

Anu following his words kept her hand on his back..she sighed when she felt his fingers trying hard to grip the dress..his palm on her back created havoc in her..

Saanson ke chalne ka tu
Zariya sa banne laga

It was the time to turn their backs to the audience..anuj instantly moved towards her back..and made a heart by his hand on her waist..she followed his hand and made a heart above his through her hands..

He took a instant turn..still his hand locked on her waist..and whispered

Anuj - lean over me anu and raise your hands up keeping the heart intact

Birha ki aag to tarpann jaane hai

She rose her hands up and body completely leaned over him..he covered her heart with his heart

And they moved forward and turned..he once again kept his hand on her back and they made their way out to back stage once again

The color drained from kavya and vanraj's face..he fisted his fingers in anger & kavya gritted her teeth

Naina kyu barse ye saawan jaane hai

As soon as the last couple went to stage anuj removed his coat and covered her back..and tears flew from her eyes

Kyu jogi ho jogan jaane hai
Jispe guzre vo tann jaane

She ran upto to the ground to reach the hostel while anuj followed her..She was about to fall and directly landed in Anuj's arms..she kept gazing at him and rain droplets touched their skin

He wiped her tears nodding his head negatively only to make her cry more..he rubbed her back while she hugged him willingly

She felt better in his embrace but the scenarios played in her mind what if anuj wasn't there how would she survive in this world if her dress would have come undone while anuj eyes had turned red

Anuj - (in mind) jisne bhi ye anu ke saath kiya haina wo nahi bachega..I promise you anu

He pecked her forehead breaking her thoughts..she kept gazing at him and fell unconscious in his arms..all of her past memories triggered her to no extent

The rain poured down making them completely wet..he lifted her in his arms while she snuggled in his embrace

He dropped her on the bed and tried detangling her hands but she brought him closer such that his face was buried in her neck while she whispered

Anu - please stay..I want you

Hum deewane hogaye hai aapke
Hum toh bas itna jaane hai

Anuj's eyes widened in shock..he gazed at her with a wide smile and kissed her forehead

A small smile appeared on her face while she drifted into a slumber He cupped her cheek and ruffled her hairs

Anuj - bas kuch din aur mae khud Orphanage jaunga tumhare saath jo bhi huwa hai uska pata lagaunga phir tumhe khud sab yaad dilane ki koshish karunga agar phir bhi yaad nahi aya toh hum nayi yaadien banayenge..ab bas hogaya..tum mujhse pyaar karti ho anu you love me I know that..dekha maine tumhari ankhon mein..

Next day 7:00 am

The note on everyone's group read that it would be a dj night today..anupama sat up to view anuj sitting on the sofa sleeping soundly

She removed the above coat looking at him and hugged it..later she got ready in floral kurta and called him out thats when his phone buzzed indicating "devika"

She picked it- haan bol devu

Devika smiled and asked - tu theek haina..

Anupama just hummed

D - waisey anuj ko bhejde kamre mae 8 baje warden shift hogi toh uss beech usko kamre mae ane ko khe de

Saying she cut the call..and anupama gazed at anuj..she tapped his shoulder

Anu - anuj..anuj..ye ladka bhi na

Saying she moved forward and stumbled over his leg and fell in his lap..feeling the weight anuj opened his eyes..he observed her

Her hairs had got tangled with his shirt button..she tried detangling it while he asked

Anuj - tum theek ho na

She hummed unable to handle the proximity while anuj gazed at her..she got up heaving while anuj smiled at her innocence..he asked playfully

Anuj - anu you love me na?

Her eyes widened in shock she took the pillow and threw at him

Anu - niklo mere kamre se tum

Anuj giggled to have her fighting aura back..he got up and walked to the door while she held his wrist

Anu - thank you..kal

Anuj - kal jo huwa wo bhul jao..anu

Anu - itna asaan nahi hoga

He held her hands slightly pressing it

Anuj - jo huwa wo nahi..jo ho sakta tha like jo tum assume kar rahi thi wo nahi huwa..aisa kabhi hoga bhi nahi mae kuch galat hone bhi nahi dunga

She looked up at him with a smile

Anu - janti hun..I trust u anuj

Anuj danced mentally and smiled at her
