Thank you guys. Cok tesekurler😳

@thelifediaries

Well, that should be the regular case. But I can't tell you, if it is really like this in reality. Our religion (islam) forbids to eat meat, which is not halal. Therefore every true muslim should follow this rule. But there are always people, who try to betray other people. So there still might be people, who did not serve halal meat in restaurants. But of course that only would be a minority. The vast majority wouldn't do that. :)

Hope this answers your question. :)

And here is the turkish alpabet.

Maybe we should write the umlaut the same way we write for German, with an extra "e" after the letter on which the umlaut is supposed to be? Like Akyuerek

Found this video about the Turkish alphabet & its pronunciation

Thanks for this thread Ayda.

Turkey is very clean, from what is shown in Fatmagul- the court, police station, hospital, villages, rivers. Is that how it is in real?

Thank you everyone. Hepinizi cok seviyorum (Means "I love you all") :)

@kamala

Yeah, I would say that, Especially official places like the ones you have mentioned are very clean. They have to be like this of course. Especially in hospitals etc. its very important. I would generally say, that turkish people are very clean. Its even part of our religion to be clean and to stay clean all the time. Of course there might be some people, who are not clean, but they would be exceptions in the society.

@ rads

I think that turkish people would mostly associate "Bollywood" with India and Indian people. The old film of Raj Kapoor with Nargis in the lead "Awaara" is something that many turkish people would associate with India. They know the song "Awaara" pretty well and its typical melody. There is also a huge fanbase of Aamir Khan in Turkey. I guess turkish people know Aamir Khan the most from all the Bollywood actors. But SRK or Salman are also known in Turkey. Many people generally would think of colourful clothes (Saris :D ), music and dances, when thinking about India. And also maybe about coconuts, which are called "hint cevizi" in turkish. If you translate this into English it means "Indian walnut". People also might think about curry or in general about spicy dishes.

Also the fact that many Indian people are vegetarian and do not eat beef could come to their minds.

But if you ask me, I think people would mostly associate Bollywood with India in Turkey.

Although turkish people get more and more aware of India and Indian culture due to the indian serials, which are currently shown in Turkey.
