@Ayda: They are considered pretty terrible by discerning viewers (all that bling, OTT emotions and conniving families 🤢) though each has a very strong fan base.😕

I was happy to see the response given to IPKKND by Turkish viewers. 😳 They got really good dubbing artists for Arnav and Khushi, perfectly suited them. It was definitely a good show, and I guess that was the last Indian show I watched regularly! After that, couldn't find any other series matching to its level. 🤔 I haven't watched Beintehaa so can't say about it.

And people here are surprised because of the ongoing shows here, most of which have been going on since 2009, 2010 😆 Also, by the time show ends, you won't even remember where it started! 🤣
This is one reason why I was actually happy that IPKKND ended within 1.5 years...🤔

Thanks for your answers. Now I understand, what you mean. Some Indian serials really are very long. Bidaai, which is currently aired in turkish television has around 700 episodes for example. Thats really quite long. Iss Pyaar and Beintehaa were shorter ones (around 200-400).

But I think the most important reason, why Indian serials are so popular in Turkey, is that they show an other culture to you. I mean in Turkey women dont wear Saris or Bindis and all that beautiful jewellery. Its somehow exotic for us, when we are watching those kind of things because we dont know it. I guess that turkish audience also wants something new, something unknown. And Indian serials are something "new" for us. Like you guys want to know something about Turkey or turkish culture, its the same for us with India or Indian culture :)

Everything that is related to India is different for us. The music, the dances, the clothes... basically everything. Its also especially interesting, when you notice similarities between both countries or cultures.

I have noticed for example that Indian people care very much for guests, who visit them in their homes. Thats exactly the same in Turkey. We also care very much about guests. As Indian people, we also do serve "cay" and other Food7sweets etc. in order to welcome them and make them feel good. By the way guests in turkish mean "misafir" :D
So thats pretty similar in both countries. In Germany for example its not like that. German people do not care so much for their guests, as turkish or Indian people do.

Therefore I think its good that Indian serials are shown in Turkey. People get to know the other culture or at least start developing an interest for the other country and culture with its people. :)

Heyy @Aydafawad I can't tell you how much I love you for this all things Turkish place ;)

All thanks to Zindagi I've been introduced to two of the most beautiful shows ive ever watched that is Feriha and Fatmagul! Trust me after watching the shows i've had such a strong urge to visit Turkey and get to know all about it and after reading your posts it just feels all the more closer to that beautiful place. I feel connected in some way.

Such a proud moment for me to know that Iss pyaar ko kya naam doon has been the most loved Indian show there. That show is my life!<3 Barun was in Turkey last year and the love which all you lovely people showered him with was so overwhelming to see :")

Thank you for all the general info here and there and translations as well.

Also, I'd love to know more about Hazal and Cagatay <33

And, other than Istanbul which are the most famous cities there?
