My idea of Revenge wasnt exactly killing them or anything😆just giving a taste of their medicine.I just wanted her to give them the taste of their own medicine. Aiman didnt do anything at all.She just left and didnt do anything about it.Now whats the dignity in giving up and hiding? The only positive was that she actually spoke up finally. She left, but not with a sorry face. She YELLED.

they weren't very well off, but the bedside tables had procelain lamps on either side. 😲

Never mind that. Maat didn't work for me at all. I was very reluctant to watch it because the thought of the same man being involved with 2 sisters while both were alive was more than repulsive.
but the TV was on at home at that time, with my bhabhi watching it, so I started following it.
It was sickening. Saman was bad bad bad bad. Aiman was good good good good. The mothers were confused confused confused confused. The men were horrible horrible horrible.
The friends were ...I'm running out of words.
Everyone was saying the same thing "kya matlab?" "mujhe samajh mein nahin aa raha hain" "tum ussey samjhao" "aise kaise ho sakta hain?"
That went on for 21 episodes, Then Saman married the other guy.
Thank God it finally came to an end. Last episode had something at least, because Aiman gave a piece of her mind to Faizal, who should have actually been beaten with shoes.
This should have been a telefilm, It might have been a little more bearable.

Your basic nature never change , she was selfless person who was just giver . Yes why she went in hiding , she was well educated and was in teaching profession , should have been shown her standing on her own with her job . She was badly betrayed and wounded her soul .

Maat in my opinion was an awesome serial. However, it's not the kind of serial that would work for everyone in my opinion. This show used to air alongside Humsafar back in 2011..and this show gave it tough competition..which was refreshing to see because despite NOT having any eye candy, any good love story whatsoever..it was pulling in audiences and high on the rating charts. Full credit to Saba and Aamina. I found their performances to be amazing. I didn't really like Aiman's character..but Saman's character in my opinion was pretty realistic. Aiman was annoying because she was too nice and you just felt that she HAD to take a stand but she never did until the end. Saman however..was obnoxious..but it worked for her because that's exactly what her character was - brash, obnoxious, ill mannered etc. There are many people out there like Saman..I found it refreshing to see a female portray such a character. Otherwise, you're just used to seeing the becharis onscreen..when in reality all females are NOT becharis.

That was an amazing analysis 👏
Coming to what I think of Maat here, I didn't find either Saman, Faisal or even Aiman to be larger than life.
When we think of Aiman, we call her self-destructive, ever-sacrificing and even dumb. But considering the situations, I found her reactions realistic. Yes, she did make a sacrifice by letting Saman be with Faisal, but what if she would have let things happen otherwise? She would have made them unhappy and not been happy herself either. If ending up with Faisal, she would have had a bad marriage, and if not, Saman would have definitely eloped (She did with Azhar, so we know she could).
Next is sacrificing a great proposal for Hadid. It was solely coz she had got way too attached to him. Motherly love took over practicality, but then it was her own choice, not really a sacrifice.
Marriage to Faisal was solely for Hadid too...
Her breakdown was primarily because Hadid had apparently let her love down, coz inspite of Faisal's coldness all those years, it was him whom she had doted upon and expected everything from. And her last words to Saman brought out all her inner frustration piled up all these years, when she said she won't be melting before her now and will never let her talk to Hadid.
That sounded cruel, but was justified after all that was done to her.
Faisal? Yes he was stupid, yes he was selfish. But then we are very familiar with a term called male ego. A man can never get over the fact that he was dumped for another and will do anything to get over it.
Let me quote Rafia from ZGH, we work hard and change our status, so that the way people behave with us also changes, so we should not be surprised when that happens.
Azhar had correctly pointed out, that Faisal is capable of making twenty out of ten, not ten thousand. So what drove him to that? Simply Saman's rejection...
It constantly lingered in his mind, making him blind to everything else, let alone Aiman's efforts. When Saman came back to him, his prize was achieved, and his eyes opened, realising there was more around him than just Saman, which he would definitely miss when gone...
Saman, a totally extreme character, also seems completely existable to me. All of us dream of spending our lives in luxury. But when a choice comes, we choose what's more apt for us. Saman knew that all she needed was a life of utmost comfort. She did whatever she could for that. Remember, she didn't dump Azhar even after knowing he hadn't divorced his first wife, coz her materialistic needs were more important than her ethical choices.
She returned to Faisal, when she had no option left, to be welcomed by him, for reasons I stated above. Her supposed repentance, again was because, Faisal was no longer the loving one anymore due to losing all he had just to gain Saman.
So it were all circumstances that led to the rightful retribution, the Sheh aur Maat...

Very well said !
Even i was fed up from the repetation of dialogues..
Aiman's mother :- "Muje to kuch samaj nahin aa raha"
Aiman:- " Pata nahi kya ho gaya hai use"
Faisal's mother:- "Tum use samjao"
And why they don't show the proper caste. In zindagi gulzar hai murtaza's two daughters were missing and here Azar's kids were missing. And one more thing which is common in both umera ahmed's script that male lead character is an MBA but he decides to join civil service. In zindagi gulzar hai..it was zaroon and here it was hadid..
I don't understand the thinking of umera ahmed behind this..

Regarding the bold above, I would say that the Pakistani shows are made with limited budgets so including extra actors would not be feasible for them.
Like Murtaza-Nigar's daughters, Sidra's husband was also not shown in ZGH.
Likewise, the ceremonies are not high scale. Aiman's wedding was almost negligibly shown.
The point is showing only to-the-point stuff and not wasting time.
